Parade: The Very Sweet Life of Selena Gomez
June 20, 2009 by Julie Bonner
Before Selena Gomez got her long locks chopped, she did a photo shoot for Parade Magazine. The article is entitled “The Very Sweet Life of Selena Gomez” and it’s all about her being a role model, Princess Protection Program, her friendship with BFF Demi Lovato, Taylor Lautner and being labeled as the next Miley Cyrus.
On setting a good example: But Selena seems unlikely to slip up. She’s all too aware that, as a star of the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place and of the new Disney TV movie Princess Protection Program, she has to set a good example for kids. “I think that it’s part of the job where you turn into a role model,” she says. “It’s not something I aimed toward. But now that it’s kind of a title, I do embrace it, because it’s very sweet to have little girls have posters and T-shirts of you.
On being linked to Taylor Launter: To her fans, Selena is as well-known for her rumored offscreen roles: ex-girlfriend of Nick Jonas (the youngest in the Jonas Brothers band) and current girlfriend of actor Taylor Lautner of the film Twilight. But while she declares, “I love talking about boys,” she won’t confirm or deny those relationships. “I used to worry about it, but I decided that it’s wrong not to go out to eat with friends or to the movies, because people might see me.” She adds: “It’s exhausting to shield yourself all the time. Still, it seems that boyfriends are all people care about when they write about me.” Read more

Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez teamed up for the Disney Channel Original Movie “Princess Protection Program” which airs Friday, June 26th. They also teamed up for a song and music video called “One and the Same”. Access Hollywood premiered the video and here it is!
Demi and Selena cover a special issue of PEOPLE magazine, on newsstands this Friday (June 19) and they talked about their time on Barney, where the two have been inseparable since.
“As soon as Barney was over, I cried my eyes out because I thought I wasn’t going to see Demi as much. Our parents decided to homeschool us together,” says Selena.
They also went on to talk about how nothing beats being best friends away from the spotlight.
“Everyone who ‘makes it’ has to deal with…not being able to trust people. But it’s okay because I know I have Selena,” says Demi. Selena seconds that. “You never know who’s your ‘real friend’ in Hollywood,” she says. “But we can always go back to each other.” Selena also considers country star Taylor Swift a close pal. “We met at an event. We started talking and we just kept talking,” says Selena.

Demi Teases Selena for Her Unhealthy Eating Habits
June 16, 2009 by Julie Bonner
We have all seen the pictures of Selena Gomez leaving her local Taco Bell. In fact, it was one of hr first stops after getting back from Puerto Rico where she filmed the “Wizards of Waverly Place” movie.
Selena recently talked about how her friend and “Princess Protection Program” co-star Demi Lovato, makes fun of her for her unhealthy eating habits.
She said, “She always says that I eat really terribly and that I get on her nerves when I eat bad food in front of her, because it makes her want to eat bad food.”
She went on to say how she doesn’t want to be obsessively healthy.
“It’s nice to be active, to play sports. Eating healthy is very nice. I sometimes don’t do that but that’s ok, I’m still growing,” she said.
What’s up next for the Disney star? Will she be breaking away from the Disney brand. She has made comments about starting her own production company in the past and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see her step away after “Wizards of Waverly Place” is over.
“I definitely would love to keep my relationship with Disney but it will be nice to step out to do different roles for me, and challenging ones,” she said.
