“Princess Protection Program” Review
June 20, 2009 by Julie Bonner
Last night my family and I popped some popcorn and watched the new Disney Channel Original Movie “Princess Protection Program” on DVD. Disney has done it again and made one very cute movie!
I don’t want to tell you too much about it, because I don’t want to spoil it, but if you are a fan of Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, then you will love their on-screen chemistry.
PPP has a cute story line and teaches a lesson about giving to others and treating everyone with respect. We learn quite a bit about what the job of a Princess requires.
Synopsis:
In the movie, royalty meets reality with Carter Mason, a rural Louisiana teen, and Rosalinda Marie Montoya Fiore, the soon-to-be teenage monarch of the tiny country of Costa Luna. The pair meets after Carter’s father, an agent in the covert international Princess Protection Program, rescues Rosalinda from a military take-over. He whisks Rosalinda to a PPP base where she receives a temporary new identity, Rosie Gonzalez, and is placed in his care until order can be restored in Costa Luna. When he arrives back in Lake Monroe, both teenagers are shell-shocked when Rosie moves into Carter’s room and the princess, posing as Carter’s visiting cousin from Iowa, begins adjusting to country life and enrolls in Carter’s school. Despite their differences, the girls slowly learn that there’s not only a lot to like about each other, but lessons to learn as well. That’s apparent when Rosie nominates Carter for homecoming queen over the heated objections of two jealous rivals, Chelsea and Brooke. And with her newfound realization, Carter brainstorms a way to help her new best friend regain her throne, even if it puts her own well-being at risk.

The bonus features were just as fun to watch as the movie. The DVD features an exclusive new music video of “One and the Same” performed by Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato and a behind-the-scenes look at the film with the teen stars.
The cast got along great and filming in gorgeous Puerto Rico with a bunch of friends is the best way to make a movie.
“Princess Protection Program” premieres on the Disney Channel June 26th and will be available on DVD June 30th.

Demi Lovato “Here We Go Again” Full Song
June 18, 2009 by Julie Bonner
Here is Demi Lovato’s single “Here We Go Again” in full! Be sure and support Demi by voting for her song on Radio Disney.
Don’t forget to watch Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Princess Protection Program” which premieres on June 26th.
In an interview about the movie, Selena talks about how Disney tried to separate them during the filming of the movie by putting them in two separate rooms. Why? Because they thought they wouldn’t get any work done!
“They knew we would never get any work done because we’d spend the night and we’d stay up late and talk,” she explains. “That didn’t work — I ended up living in her room half the time.”
The BFFs ordered room service, watched movies and hit the beach together.
“You should be there for someone, and I think you should be honest with someone,” she says. “I don’t think it’s healthy to go around gossiping and telling other people (things). I think it’s nice to just sit down with someone and tell them how you feel and get it off your chest.”
PPP is also on DVD June 30th!
“One and the Same” Full Music Video: Demi and Selena
June 17, 2009 by Julie Bonner
Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez teamed up for the Disney Channel Original Movie “Princess Protection Program” which airs Friday, June 26th. They also teamed up for a song and music video called “One and the Same”. Access Hollywood premiered the video and here it is!
Demi and Selena cover a special issue of PEOPLE magazine, on newsstands this Friday (June 19) and they talked about their time on Barney, where the two have been inseparable since.
“As soon as Barney was over, I cried my eyes out because I thought I wasn’t going to see Demi as much. Our parents decided to homeschool us together,” says Selena.
They also went on to talk about how nothing beats being best friends away from the spotlight.
“Everyone who ‘makes it’ has to deal with…not being able to trust people. But it’s okay because I know I have Selena,” says Demi. Selena seconds that. “You never know who’s your ‘real friend’ in Hollywood,” she says. “But we can always go back to each other.” Selena also considers country star Taylor Swift a close pal. “We met at an event. We started talking and we just kept talking,” says Selena.

Selena Shops New York
June 17, 2009 by Julie Bonner
Selena Gomez has been in New York City promoting “Wizards of Waverly Place” and the new Disney Channel Original Movie “Princess Protection Program”. She visited Live with Regis and Kelly yesterday and was also seen hitting up some shops with her cousin.

The special Demi and Selena issue of PEOPLE hits newsstands this Friday (June 19). Both Selena and Demi said that they put their friendship above everything else - boys, careers, other friends.
In the special issue, Demi revealed that her and Selena put their friendship above one thing that often splits girls up…boys, “I’m very protective of our friendship. I think I’d be like, ‘You can have him, because I don’t want to ruin our friendship.’ Then she’d be like, ‘No, you can have him,’ and then we’d end up not liking him.”
Selena went on to say how she has cut people out of her life that she doesn’t need. She wants to surround herself with people that make her smile.
You can pick up your copy of PEOPLE Friday!
