The first full length promo for the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Hatching Pete”.

The movie is about a “shy high school student Pete (Jason Dolley) struggling to be noticed, especially by his crush. When his best friend Poole (Mitchel Musso) needs a break as the school mascot due to an allergic reaction to the chicken suit he wears, he convinces Pete to stand in for him at a couple of the basketball games.”

“Hatching Pete” airs on the Disney Channel sometime in April.

“Hatching Pete” comes to the Disney Channel on March 7, 2009 (according to IMDB). The DCOM stars Cory in the House star Jason Dolley and Hannah Montana star Mitchel Musso.

Here’s a description of the novel:

School spirit at Brewster High is at an all-time low. The Ragin’ Roosters basketball team hasn’t won a game all season. Plus, the school mascot is totally lame! Things aren’t so great for Pete Ivey, an ordinary sophomore, either. His teachers forget he’s in their class, and the girl of his dreams thinks of him as a brother. But when Pete secretly puts on the school mascot chicken suit, he’s the basketball-dunking, pyramid-jumping spectacle they’ve all been waiting for. Suddenly the whole school is pumped up, but no one knows it’s all because of Pete. Can he admit to everyone that he’s the man behind the beak?

Once Pete dons the chicken suit, his shyness fades and a whole new outgoing character filled with personality appears that not only captivates the school, but the whole town!

While Poole enjoys all of the benefits of Pete’s dynamic performances, including a cheerleader girlfriend, quiet, unassuming Pete must decide if he wants the world to know who’s really behind all of the mascot’s antics.

Cory in the House cutie Jason Dolley, is in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Hatching Pete“. We have to wait awhile to see this movie. Its release date is March 7, 2009.

“Hatching Pete” includes not only Jason Dolley, but also Mitchel Musso (Hannah Montana) and Brian Stepanek (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody). The movie was filmed in Utah at Hillcrest High School.

Here’s the movie plot:

Cleatus Poole (Mitchel Musso) is the school mascot at Hondo High School and his whole family have been mascots too, but he’s allergic to the costume. So his best friend Pete (Jason Dolley) dons the costume and becomes immensely popular, although no one knows that it’s not Poole in the costume. As a result, a falling out occurs between the friends.

Sounds like a cute movie!

Jason Dolley and Mitchel Musso have teamed up for a new Disney movie called “Hatching Pete“. Jason is playing Pete, who’s a shy high school student, and Mitchel is playing his best friend.

They just recently started filming in Utah, close to the High School Musical 3 set! How cool is that?!
