Here are some Disney audition updates for you:

• Adults are needed for extras in Hannah Montana Movie.
• High School Musical 3 is still looking for extras.

Well Tony Oller fans, for those of you hoping he would get the part in High School Musical 3, here’s some sad news from his My Space page:

“Well I said I’d tell you what happened. Today ended up being a bad day. When I got home from school I found out somebody else got the part in HSM3. they told me I was the only triple threat there (in other words people who can do all 3 things sing/dance/act) but they said I was overqualified like all my talents would be a competition for Zac’s character instead of being like a “wannabe Troy”. I’m bummed because I thought I did my best in the auditions and this was my dream role and I would have worked so hard for them. What’s weird is 2 years ago I got a meeting with the head of casting and she said I wasn’t at Zac Efron’s level yet. So since then I’ve been working hard at my acting and music and now I didn’t get the role because I’m at that level. I thought I did my best but it wasn’t what they wanted I guess. I wish I would have found out sooner and not gotten my hopes up. It’s pretty depressing when people don’t have enough faith in you. I think I need a break from everything and all my worthless lessons for awhile. Anyway I appreciate all your support for me. Give me a few days and I’ll write back to everybody as much as I can. God bless.”

What a sad note. Don’t give up Tony! What they said to you is actually a great compliment! Something else will come along and there are still a lot of your fans who are looking forward to your next project.

Well, since he didn’t get the part, I wonder who did. Maybe Jake Thomas?

Jake Thomas, who has starred in Disney Channel’s “Cory in the House” and also the Steven Spielberg movie “A.I.” is vying for a role in High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

“Yesterday was a first for me,” he tells the Insider. “It was the first time I had to sing for an audition. It was an interesting challenge for me, but I think I was up for it.”

More HSM movies are a possibility, but they will be done without Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and the rest of the current cast members. In HSM 3, the current cast is graduating High School, but a new cast of characters will be introduced to carry on the song-and-dance routines for future movies.

Thomas is auditioning for a lead male role, which would fill the void in any other HSM movies when Zac Efron is gone.

“The character I am auditioning for would take over Zac Efron’s (function). He would be the new star basketball player at the school,” he says.

Although Jake can sing, he doesn’t consider himself much of a dancer.

He recently earned his High School diploma as well as his own place to live. So, even though in real life his High School days are over, they may be just beginning for his movie career.

So, what do you think - Is Jake Thomas a good fit for High School Musical 3: Senior Year? I wonder if he auditioned for the same role as Tony Oller did, which is Jimmie “The Rocket” Soto.
