“Old Dogs” also stars funnyman Robin Williams. He and Travolta play old friends and business partners who, in the midst of some truly bizarre circumstances, find themselves forced to care for seven year old twins.

Synopsis:

Two best friends — one unlucky-in-love divorcee (Robin Williams) and the other a fun-loving bachelor (John Travolta) — have their lives turned upside down when they’re unexpectedly charged with the care of six-year-old twins while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives. The not-so-kid-savvy bachelors stumble in their efforts to take care of the twins (newcomers Ella Bleu Travolta and Conner Rayburn), leading to one debacle after another, and perhaps to a new-found understanding of whatÂ’s really important in life.

If you’re like me, I LOVE to read the book before seeing the movie, so I am definitely going to be purchasing this one! It will give us all a great look into the story and the part Miley is playing. Here’s what the novel is about according to Amazon.com:

Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller’s life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father…until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church.

So far, the book has received some phenomenal reviews. One review says to definitely read the book before the movie. Here’s an excerpt of their review:

Thankfully we can also look forward to a film production of The Last Song, coming January 2010. Miley Cyrus will be playing the character of Veronica Miller, and I’m interested in seeing how well she portrays her. I’m more than thrilled to be reading about this on Sparks’ website, and can’t wait to see the novel played out on film.

Here’s a few facts you probably didn’t know about this novel :
1. Miley Cyrus chose the name Ronnie for the main character.
2. Nicholas Sparks wrote the screenplay before he wrote the novel.

New Disney Channel Original Movie:

• Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie (Airs August 28th): The story of “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” begins in New York with the Russos busily packing for their Caribbean vacation. Middle child Alex is planning to stay back with her best friend Harper while her family is away. When Alex uses magic to defy her mother and go to a party with Harper, a disappointed Theresa insists Alex go on the family vacation.
  Upon their arrival at the resort, Theresa excitedly points out all the locations she and Jerry visited when they first met and snaps pictures of the family who, to their chagrin, are dressed in matching tropical outfits.  When a cute wind surfing instructor invites Alex out, Theresa won’t allow her to go.  Frustrated and upset with her mom, Alex wishes her parents never met, prompting an unintended spell to activate.

I’ve been blogging quite a bit about the movie and everywhere I turn, someone is talking about it. Is the movie worth all of the hype? I think it just might be. Check out some of these early reviews:

The Hollywood Reporter says: “Winsome, touching and arguably the funniest Pixar effort ever, the gorgeously rendered, high-flying adventure is a tidy 90-minute distillation of all the signature touches that came before it….But what gives Up such a joyously buoyant lift is the refreshingly nongimmicky way in which the [3-D] process has been incorporated into the big picture—and what a wonderful big picture it is.”

Inside Up: Dug the Talking Dog Featurette

Time says: “And though it’s not yet summer, we can declare that Up, like WALL-E, will prove to be one of the most satisfying movie experiences of its year….Extending the patented Pixar mix of humor and heart, Up is the studio’s most deeply emotional and affecting work.”

Rogert Ebert enjoyed the film saying: “This is a wonderful film. It tells a story. The characters are as believable as any characters can be who spend much of their time floating above the rain forests of Venezuela. They have tempers, problems, and obsessions. They are cute and goofy, but they aren’t cute in the treacly way of little cartoon animals. They’re cute in the human way of the animation master Hayao Miyazaki.”

Variety says: “Despite the sheer volume of incident and action required of any film that includes young kids as a major portion of its target audience, Up is an exceptionally refined picture; unlike so many animated films, it’s not all about sensory bombardment and volume. As Pixar’s process is increasingly analyzed, the more one appreciates the care that goes into the writing. The underlying carpentry here is so strong, it seems it would be hard to go too far wrong in the execution.”

So, is this film worth seeing? A resounding YES! I will definitely be at the theater on May 29th to see this film. I haven’t decided if I will pay the extra money to see it in 3D, but regardless, I’ll be there on opening day.

The soundtrack for the movie goes on sale today, March 24th and Disney has also released a bunch of new stills for the movie.

Everyone is talking about this movie, including the star Miley Cyrus. Many fans have been wondering if this movie is the end of “Hannah Montana”. It sure seems to give that impression!

Miley has said that she is all for a season 4, but that it’s not up to her.

“This movie was never meant to be the end of Hannah Montana,” said Cyrus. “The thing is, a lot of people put where the show’s future lays in my hands – and it’s not up to me. It’s up to Disney and whether they want more episodes, and we hope that they do.”

The Disney Channel has said that it is definitely thinking about a season 4, but that nothing is definite yet.

“BOLT” is making its Blu-ray debut on March 22nd! You can purchase the Blu-ray + DVD + Digital File Combo Pack on the 22nd and the standard DVD on the 24th.

In celebration of the release, I have a fun Q&A with Penny (voiced by Miley Cyrus), who is Bolt’s person. She talks about fame, acting and her precious pup Bolt.

What’s life like as a famous actress, Penny?

Acting is a lot of fun, but I’m not the star of the show. That’s Bolt, of course! He’s the one who people tune into watch every week. He’s the prefect canine co-star and I love him to bits.

Tell us about your television show…

It’s an action adventure about a super dog called Bolt. He is a pooch with incredible strength, laser vision and a powerful superbark. You don’t want to mess with Bolt! He’s always helping my character escape from danger and away from the clutches of the evil green-eyed villain, Dr. Calico.

You and Bolt must be very close…

We are! Bolt is my favorite animal in the world, but I feel sorry for him at times because he is never allowed to be a real dog. I always want to take him home at the weekends and play with him, but I’m never allowed.

Why’s that?

Because the big bosses make Bolt stay in his trailer every night. I asked my agent if I could take Bolt home – just for one night – but I wasn’t allowed. It really upsets me because I don’t like the thought of him being alone all the time.

Does Bolt live in a swanky trailer?

It is lovely. There are photos of Bolt and me all over the walls – and he has loads of space in there. Bolt believes everything on the show is real, so he isn’t allowed to leave in case he finds out the truth. He can’t find out it’s just a TV show. It’s all a bit sad really.

When did you and Bolt first meet?

We met years ago when I rescued him from an animal shelter. I remember the first time I saw him. He looked so cute! I knew I had to have him as soon as I set my eyes on him. His tail was wagging and he was all slobbery. He was so cool!

How often do you get to hang out with Bolt?

I spend as much time as possible with Bolt. In fact, my favorite hobby is having fun with my buddy. He’s so loving and caring – and slobbery.

Do you have any other hobbies?

I also love photography. I take a camera with me wherever I go and I’m always snapping pictures. I try to take a photo at the end of every adventure I go on with Bolt to remind us of the fun we have. I’ve got all the pictures at home.

Does Bolt have a favorite hobby?

He loves everything that normal dogs enjoy, including going for walks and playing with toys. His favorite toy isMr. Carrot, which is a squeaky carrot. Bolt’s had Mr. Carrot ever since we first met and he can’t get enough of chewing him.

How would you describe Bolt?

Bolt is a slobbery good boy who I love to bits!

Can you describe your puppy pal in one word?

Ooh, that’s a toughie! Let me think… [Penny pauses to ponder the question] Oh, I know. I’d describe Bolt as “Pawfect”! Ha ha! Geddit? Per-fect? Paw-fect? Bolt is the most paw-fect dog in the world – and don’t you forget it!

In the shoot, they are portraying Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip from the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty. Wow! I can not wait to see these pictures!

JJ has said that he’s seen them and although there’s not any lip lock, he said it’s pretty close. I am not sure when the photos will come out, but hopefully soon.

“We are no longer going forward with the movie due to budgetary considerations and other logistics,” a Disney spokeswoman said. She wouldn’t comment on the decision to cut ties with Walden and what was envisioned as a 7-part series.

The second film in the series, “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” did not do as well as the first film at the box office. The first Narnia film brought in $745 million, while the second film only brought in $419 million.

Walden had cut the budget significantly on the third Narnia film, “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader”, so Disney’s bail out surprises some. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with this third film, if it happens at all.

From director Adam Shankman (”Hairspray”, “The Wedding Planner”) this movie features a star cast, including Adam Sandler, Keri Russell, Guy Pearce, Courteney Cox and Russell Brand.

“Bedtime Stories” is an adventure comedy starring Adam Sandler, who plays Skeeter Bronson. Skeeter is a hotel handyman whose life changes forever after he tells his niece and nephew a bedtime story that ends up coming true. Attempting to use this for his own advantage, things go a little awry when the kid’s contributions to the story turn his life upside down.
