Synopsis:

The story is set in the small and rather boring village of Instep. Egan, a young boy, has come to Instep to visit relatives and attend a fair. The village’s people are terrified by the noises that come from the top of a small nearby mountain. No one has ever investigated the source of the sound, but the general rumor is that a thing being called the "Megrimum" lives up there, kept at bay only through the use of various charms and offerings.

Teased by his cousin, Egan decides to make a trek up the mountain to investigate the source of the noises. When he discovers what’s really up there, he has a hard decision to make about whether or not to inform the village.When something goes wrong.Egan’s cousin Ada tell everyone in the town of Instep that Egan was treking up the rise.Everyone in the town starts looking for Egan.At the top of the rise Egan discovers that there is no ‘Megrimum’.Its just a boiling spring inside a cave that ecos when it rains.Egan tries to tell everyone in Instep that the Megrimum is fake but everyone thinks he was lieing.

Disney Channel Series:

Good Luck Charlie (2010): If you are a reader of Disney Society, then you are familiar with this new series. It stars Bridgit Mendler and Jason Dolley and is about two teenagers, Teddy and Casey Holliday, and their 10-year-old brother, Gabe, whose parents enlist their help when they return to work after the birth of their fourth child, Charlotte, aka Charlie. With their parents juggling full time careers, the older Holliday siblings pitch in, getting very familiar with baby formula, burp clothes and babysitting while navigating typical teenage life. Untitled Mall Project (2010?): I am not so sure about this project and I have heard whispers here and there about it. It’s supposed to be a TV show based on Ashley Tisdale’s teenage years when she worked in a mall. It doesn’t look like it’s happening anytime soon and the project may either be on hold or shut down all together. Disney Society is keeping an eye on this one!

Disney Channel Movies:

Starstruck (2010): Production has already begun on this Disney Channel Original Movie and it stars Sonny With a Chance’s Sterling Knight. Starstruck is about Jessica Olson (played by Campbell), a down-to-earth girl from the Midwest who collides (literally) with Hollywood’s teen heartthrob, pop star Christopher Wilder (played by Knight). They wind up on a love-struck adventure in Southern California, but their bond is tested when she returns home and he publicly denies their relationship. You can read more about it here.

High School Musical 4: East Meets West (2010): Disney Channel announced back in March about another High School Musical. The shocker was, none of the characters from HSM3 (you know, the new ones they introduced!) would be returning. HSM4 is about when East meets West in a classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights. Avalon High: We are not sure when this movie is slated to be released, but do know that they started auditions for it quite awhile ago. You can see the audition info here. The film is about Elaine “Ellie” Harrison who has just moved from Minnesota to Annapolis, Maryland while her parents take a year long sabbatical to continue their medieval studies in nearby DC. Her new high school, Avalon High, seems like a typical high school with the stereotypical students: Lance the jock, Jennifer the cheerleader, Marco, the bad boy/desperado, and Will, the senior class president, quarterback, and all around good guy. But not everyone at Avalon High is who they appear to be, not even Ellie herself.

Eventually, it becomes apparent that Avalon High is a situation where the ancient Arthurian legend is repeating itself. Will, Jennifer, Lance, Marco, and Mr. Morton all correspond to King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, Knight Lancelot, Mordred, and Merlin, respectively.

Den Brother (2011): Today is the first I have heard of this movie. It’s about a high school hockey player who is forced to lead his sister’s Girl Guide troop. There is no casting info, no audition info…so basically we don’t know much yet about this DCOM. Stay tuned!

Production has begun on “Starstruck,” a music-filled Disney Channel Original Movie starring Sterling Knight (”Sonny With A Chance”) and introducing Danielle Campbell. Slated to premiere in 2010, the movie is filming in and around Los Angeles at landmark locations including Hollywood Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, the Hollywood Sign, Grauman’s Chinese Theater and the Venice Boardwalk.

The story follows Jessica Olson (played by Campbell), a down-to-earth girl from the Midwest who collides (literally) with Hollywood’s teen heartthrob, pop star Christopher Wilder (played by Knight). They wind up on a love-struck adventure in Southern California, but their bond is tested when she returns home and he publicly denies their relationship.

Also starring are Brandon Mychal Smith (”Sonny With A Chance”) as Stubby, Christopher’s childhood best friend; Maggie Castle (”The Time Traveler’s Wife”) as Sara Olson, Jessica’s older, star struck sister; and Dan O’Connor (”Malcolm in the Middle”) and Beth Littleford (Disney XD’s upcoming “I’m in the Band”, “Rules of Engagement”) as Dean and Barbara Olson, Jessica and Sara’s parents.

Knight and Smith have become familiar faces to Disney Channel fans since the debut of their hit series “Sonny With A Chance.” Since its February 2009 premiere, “Sonny With A Chance” is TV’s No. 1 program in its Sunday 8:00 p.m. time period in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14, and ranks among TV’s Top 5 programs overall in the target demos.

The movie’s soundtrack will feature songs written by songwriters Mitch Allan, Jessi Alexander, Adam Anders, Aris Aronchitis, Peer Astrom, Ali Dee, Andy Dodd, Nikki Hassman, Jeannie Lurie, Niclas Molinder, Chen Neeman, Joacim Persson and Adam Watts.

She said: “I think it’s been decided they’re going for a whole new route with it which is a shame but I had a really good time doing the third one.”

She added: “I’m back to auditioning and have got some cool opportunities and good scripts so hope something comes up!

“When I’m 16 and have left school I can start concentrating on other stuff and in ten years time I’ll hopefully have a film or two under my belt but I love theatre too so that would be fun.”

I actually think this might be a smart move. I wasn’t quite sure about these “newbies” that they brought in for HSM3 anyway. Something seemed a little off to me. If they are going to do another High School Musical movie without the original cast, they really do need to surprise us and it sounds like that’s exactly what Disney has up their sleeve. We know the story line, but the cast is a mystery.

The Disney Channel Original Movie “Hatching Pete” makes its debut on April 24th. The movie stars Mitchel Musso (Hannah Montana), Tiffany Thornton (Sony with a Chance) and Jason Dolley (Cory in the House).
