Here’s a brand new DCOM Extra from the upcoming movie “StarStruck” starring Sterling Knight, Brandon Mychal Smith and Danielle Campbell. The stars talk about their characters. The movie premieres on Disney Channel February 14th at 8/7c.
The story follows Jessica Olson (played by Campbell), a down-to-earth girl from the Midwest who collides (literally) with Hollywood’s teen heartthrob, pop star Christopher Wilder (played by Knight). According to Wikipedia (which isn’t always right), Disney Channel has bought the rights to the children’s book “Kneeknock Rise” and have plans to turn it into a Disney Channel Original Movie.

Disney Channel always has a project up their sleeve, usually several at a time. I decided to do some digging and see what Disney Channel movies and series are in the works. Here’s what I found:

We mentioned last week that Cody Linley (Hannah Montana’s Jake Ryan) would be starring in a new Disney Channel Original Movie entitled “Starstruck”, but now it looks like that information was wrong! According to a press release released by Disney, the movie will star Sterling Knight!
(Update: Disney sources have told us that Cody Linley was replaced by Sterling Knight because of scheduling issues. Cody will be taking to the stage in a Broadway play called “Over Here”. Congrats Cody!!)

We are getting even more news about the cast, or lack of cast, for “High School Musical 4″. Matt Prokop announced on his MySpace at the beginning of this month, that he would not be in HSM4. It’s just been announced that Jemma McKenzie-Brown, who played Tiara in HSM3, will not be in the movie either.
She said: “I think it’s been decided they’re going for a whole new route with it which is a shame but I had a really good time doing the third one.”

February 16th is all about a Night of Stars!
The evening is full of new episodes and new music videos. You can see brand new episodes of “Hannah Montana”, “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “As the Bell Rings”.
