Auditions for Disney: Basic Disney Channel Audition Tips

April 10, 2009 by Julie Bonner

KN SELENAGOMEZ 2 MCT I know there are a lot of you who are interested in Disney Channel Auditions. Finding auditions and knowing what the whole audition world is like can be tricky. Very tricky.

Auditions for Disney has some excellent Audition tips, as well as the latest news on what Disney Channel Auditions are available. It’s a little quiet in the DC audition world right now, so while you are waiting for new auditions to come out, check out this site and get some fabulous tips.

You can also follow them on Twitter to get the latest news.

Here’s an excerpt from their latest article about Basic Audition Tips:

Be Prepared

The first thing to do is read the script and prepare for the part. Find out everything you can about the character you’re going to be playing. The lines aren’t important yet. Just commit your focus to the character. How old, where from, how the character feels about other characters in the story. Only after you know everything you need to know about the character do you start learning your lines. Use whatever method you feel most comfortable with. You won’t be required to know the whole script at the audition but be prepared. It’s okay to be nervous. Even experienced actors get nervous at an audition, but the casting director will know you are serious about this if you seemed prepared. And believe me, they can tell the difference!

If you have any questions about auditions, head over there and ask!

Audition for New DCOM ‘Avalon High’

November 2, 2008 by Julie Bonner

avalon-high According to Acting Info, Disney will start production on a new Disney Channel Original Movie. The movie is based on the popular novel “Avalon High” by Meg Cabot.

Auditions will be held shortly and they are currently casting for all roles. For the roles available and a description of each, see Acting Info.

Here’s the plot description:

Elaine “Ellie” Harrison has just moved from Minnesota to Annapolis, Maryland while her parents take a year long sabbatical to continue their medieval studies in nearby DC. Her new high school, Avalon High, seems like a typical high school with the stereotypical students: Lance the jock, Jennifer the cheerleader, Marco, the bad boy/desperado, and Will, the senior class president, quarterback, and all around good guy. But not everyone at Avalon High is who they appear to be, not even Ellie herself.

Eventually, it becomes apparent that Avalon High is a situation where the ancient Arthurian legend is repeating itself. Will, Jennifer, Lance, Marco, and Mr. Morton all correspond to King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, Knight Lancelot, Mordred, and Merlin, respectively.

What do you think? Will this be a popular DCOM? As soon as audition information is available, I will let you know.
