Following the tremendous success of the film “Tinker Bell” on Blu-ray and DVD in 2008, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment announces teen superstar Demi Lovato to sing the song from “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure,” the newest addition in the best-selling Fairies franchise.  Releasing on October 27, 2009, the enchanting pixie-dusted tale continues in an even more action-packed adventure, as “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” delightfully expands the world of fairies and takes Tink far beyond Pixie Hollow in an original full-length CG animated film that flies to Blu-ray (“Combo Pack” Blu-ray +DVD) and standard def DVD.  “Gift of a Friend,” co-written by Lovato, is featured over the end credits of the film, and the music video will premiere on Disney Channel Friday, September 4 at 8:25 PM before a brand new episode of ”Suite Life on Deck.”

Lovato rose to stardom in 2008 with the Disney Channel Original Movie CAMP ROCK opposite The Jonas Brothers.  She was also featured in Walt Disney Studios JONAS BROTHERS: THE 3D CONCERT EXPERIENCE feature film in early 2009.  Her sophomore album, Here We Go Again, debuted at # 1 on the Billboard 200, selling in excess of 107,000 units.  With Here We Go Again Demi Lovato bested her debut album, Don’t Forget which debuted at # 2 selling 89,000 units in its first week.
Demi headlines in the hit Disney Channel series “Sonny With A Chance,” and “Sonny with a Chance: Sonny’s Big Break,” a new compilation is now available on DVD featuring a brand new never-before-seen episode and the “Mackenzie Falls” Season Finale Cliffhanger.”

Lovato also starred in the smash Disney Channel movie “Princess Protection Program,” which delivered 9.9 million viewers with its premiere telecast and at the time, was  the year’s # 1 TV movie among Kids 6 – 11 and Tweens and cable TV’s # 1 movie telecast in Total Viewers and Households.  It is now available on Disney DVD in a “Royal B.F.F. Extended Edition.

In “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure,” Tinker Bell’s greatest adventure yet takes place in autumn, as the fairies are on the mainland changing the colors of the leaves, tending to pumpkin patches, and helping geese fly south for the winter.   The rare Blue Moon will rise, and when its light passes through the magical Fall Scepter that Tinker Bell has been summoned to create, Pixie Hollow’s supply of pixie dust will be restored.  But, when Tinker Bell accidentally puts all of Pixie Hollow in jeopardy, she must venture out across the sea on a secret quest to set things right.

So we know that “Camp Rock 2” has a lot of dancing in it and Demi has been very busy practicing her moves. She tweetd yesterday, “9 hours of dance today….. Woo! Let’s do it!” Wow, 9 hours! And she’s back at it again today.

“Camp Rock 2” follows Mitchie (Demi Lovato), Shane, Jason, Nate (Jonas Brothers) and their friends as they return to Camp Rock for another great summer of music and fun. However they soon learn that a new state-of-the-art music/performance camp, Camp Star, has opened across the lake and has lured away many of Camp Rock instructors and campers — putting the future of Camp Rock in jeopardy.

And when Camp Star’s hotshot performer, Luke Williams, challenges Camp Rock to a musical showdown to see which camp really has the stronger musical talent, everyone prepares for the ultimate battle of the bands.

Meanwhile, in a classic "Romeo and Juliet" twist, Nate (Nick Jonas) falls for the daughter of the owner of the rival camp.

Demi Lovato

Production on “Camp Rock 2” is set to begin very soon and is set to debut in 2010.

Demi and the Jonas Brothers will head back to “Camp Rock”, as well as Meaghan Jette Martin, Maria Canals-Barrera and Alyson Stoner. The characters will discover that some of the campers have ditched Camp Rock for a rival camp next door called Camp Star.

Also joining the film is hip hop artist Matthew “Mdot” Finley and Chloe Bridges, a 17-year-old classical pianist. Mdot plays the reigning  singer across the lake at Camp Star who challenges Camp Rock to a musical showdown.

So where does the Shakespeare plot come into play? It comes when Nate (Nick Jonas) falls for Dana (Chloe Bridges), the daughter of Camp Star’s owner. So Nick has a love interest! It was Joe last time, now it’s Nick’s turn.

Here’s a little about one of our favorite Disney Channel stars:

Demi was born in Dallas, TX as Demetria Devonne Lovato. She has two sisters Dallas Lovato and Madison De La Garza and her mom was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader during the the 1982-83 season. Demi can play the piano and the guitar and is quite good at it!

In July 2008, she opened for the Jonas Brothers. That’s when everyone started taking notice of this girl from Dallas. She had the lead role in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock” and recently starred alongside her best friend Selena Gomez in “Princess Protection Program”.

Demi was bit by the acting bug when she was only 6. She auditioned for a recurring role on the PBS show “Barney & Friends” in 1992. That’s where she met Selena Gomez! How did Demi make it to the Disney Channel? She went to an open casting call and just this last year, starred in her very own series Sonny with a Chance. In 2008 at a press conference in New York, Disney called Demi “The Next Big Thing”.

Needless to say, Demi has had a great career and she’s only 17!

On Saturday, July 18th, @ 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT you can catch the premiere during Radio Disney’s Planet Premiere. The album will be replayed on SUNDAY, JULY 19 (12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT) and can be streamed and listened to online at RadioDisney.com from SATURDAY, JULY 18 through FRIDAY, JULY 24.

During the broadcast, Radio Disney DJ Ernie D will interview Demi, while playing songs from her new album. Not only is this her sophomore album, but Demi is known for her role in “Sonny With a Chance” and “Princess Protection Program”. Her first album, “Don’t Forget”, was released in September 2008 on Hollywood Records. It debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200, selling over 89,000 copies in the first week and features three singles that have all been certified gold: "Get Back," "La La Land" and "Don’t Forget."

Why was she having some serious dejavu? Because she has recorded for Camp Rock with Kara before, as well as other songs. Demi tweeted, “Fun Fact: Kara wrote Camp Rock’s "We Rock" and my song "The Middle". And we co-wrote "Believe in Me" together. Psshh… I knew her butt …”.

Production for “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam” begins this summer and the Disney Channel has plans to release the movie sometime in 2010. Stars from the first “Camp Rock”, such as Demi Lovato, Jonas Brothers, Alyson Stoner, Meaghan Jette Martin and Maria Canals-Barrera, will be returning for the second one.
