Disney Channel Auditions

According to IMDB, the film is about a high school hockey player forced to lead his sister’s Girl Guide troop. I am sure Disney will choose current Disney stars to play the lead roles, but that shouldn’t stop you from going after those supporting roles!

If you could pick a lead character for the hockey player and his sister, which two Disney stars would you pick? I can definitely see Hutch Dano, who stars in Disney XD’s Zeke & Luther, playing this role. He would make a great hockey player!

Synopsis:

The story is set in the small and rather boring village of Instep. Egan, a young boy, has come to Instep to visit relatives and attend a fair. The village’s people are terrified by the noises that come from the top of a small nearby mountain. No one has ever investigated the source of the sound, but the general rumor is that a thing being called the "Megrimum" lives up there, kept at bay only through the use of various charms and offerings.

Teased by his cousin, Egan decides to make a trek up the mountain to investigate the source of the noises. When he discovers what’s really up there, he has a hard decision to make about whether or not to inform the village.When something goes wrong.Egan’s cousin Ada tell everyone in the town of Instep that Egan was treking up the rise.Everyone in the town starts looking for Egan.At the top of the rise Egan discovers that there is no ‘Megrimum’.Its just a boiling spring inside a cave that ecos when it rains.Egan tries to tell everyone in Instep that the Megrimum is fake but everyone thinks he was lieing.

Production has begun on “Starstruck,” a music-filled Disney Channel Original Movie starring Sterling Knight (”Sonny With A Chance”) and introducing Danielle Campbell. Slated to premiere in 2010, the movie is filming in and around Los Angeles at landmark locations including Hollywood Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, the Hollywood Sign, Grauman’s Chinese Theater and the Venice Boardwalk.

The story follows Jessica Olson (played by Campbell), a down-to-earth girl from the Midwest who collides (literally) with Hollywood’s teen heartthrob, pop star Christopher Wilder (played by Knight). They wind up on a love-struck adventure in Southern California, but their bond is tested when she returns home and he publicly denies their relationship.

Also starring are Brandon Mychal Smith (”Sonny With A Chance”) as Stubby, Christopher’s childhood best friend; Maggie Castle (”The Time Traveler’s Wife”) as Sara Olson, Jessica’s older, star struck sister; and Dan O’Connor (”Malcolm in the Middle”) and Beth Littleford (Disney XD’s upcoming “I’m in the Band”, “Rules of Engagement”) as Dean and Barbara Olson, Jessica and Sara’s parents.

Knight and Smith have become familiar faces to Disney Channel fans since the debut of their hit series “Sonny With A Chance.” Since its February 2009 premiere, “Sonny With A Chance” is TV’s No. 1 program in its Sunday 8:00 p.m. time period in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14, and ranks among TV’s Top 5 programs overall in the target demos.

The movie’s soundtrack will feature songs written by songwriters Mitch Allan, Jessi Alexander, Adam Anders, Aris Aronchitis, Peer Astrom, Ali Dee, Andy Dodd, Nikki Hassman, Jeannie Lurie, Niclas Molinder, Chen Neeman, Joacim Persson and Adam Watts.

Gaining nearly 2 million Viewers based on a full week of viewing, the premiere of Disney Channel’s 77th original movie, “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie,” became cable’s No. 2 scripted telecast of all time in Total Viewers (13.5 million), and cable’s No. 2 telecast ever in Kids 6-11 (5.3 million/21.8 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (4.6 million/19.0 rating), behind August 2007’s mega-hit, Disney’s “High School Musical 2.”

In Kids 6-11, “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” now ranks as TV’s No. 1 telecast of 2009, surpassing NBC’s “Super Bowl” (5.3 million vs. 5.1 million). With “High School Musical 2” and “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie,” Disney Channel owns cable’s Top 2 scripted telecasts of all time in Total Viewers and cable’s Top 2 telecasts overall in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14.

As we already knew, “Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie” was a huge success and the entire cast and production crew should definitely be celebrating! What will Disney bring to the table next as far as Disney Channel Original Movies? We know we have Camp Rock 2, High School Musical 4 and Starstruck coming up! Can they top the WOWP movie ratings? We shall see!!

"Basically, he’s into this plain Jane chick he has an adventure with and they have a cool friendship that happens. He starts to realize lots of things about himself and it has a cool message," says Linley, who’ll start shooting in about a week.

"I’ve been singing every day. I’m recording six songs for the movie," he says. And they’ll be shooting him performing at the Sunset Strip’s Key Club.

We are not sure yet when the movie comes out, but we will let you know as soon as we find out more info! Are you excited about seeing Cody Linley in his own Disney Channel Original Movie?!

Cody was also very excited about attending the first ever D23 Expo.

"It’s going to be awesome — a huge event designed for the fans," he says of the star-filled four-day extravaganza at the Anaheim Convention Center. It sounds like a Disney-tween answer to Comic Con. "I’m going to be there for a few hours, sign some autographs, meet the fans," says the affable 19-year-old. And as far as dancing, "If there are some fans who want to dance with me, I’m always going to be breaking it out.It’s a new love for me."

The feel-good movie continues the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise’s mission to engage kids and families through fun, adventurous and aspirational storytelling that celebrates family and the pursuit of goals and dreams.

Filmed on location in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and directed by DGA Award nominee Lev L. Spiro, the movie was written by Dan Berendsen who creates a fantasy adventure with daring feats that lives in a kid’s imagination.

The story of “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” begins in New York with the Russos busily packing for their Caribbean vacation. Middle child Alex is planning to stay back with her best friend Harper while her family is away. When Alex uses magic to defy her mother and go to a party with Harper, a disappointed Theresa insists Alex go on the family vacation.

Upon their arrival at the resort, Theresa excitedly points out all the locations she and Jerry visited when they first met and snaps pictures of the family who, to their chagrin, are dressed in matching tropical outfits.  When a cute wind surfing instructor invites Alex out, Theresa won’t allow her to go.  Frustrated and upset with her mom, Alex wishes her parents never met, prompting an unintended spell to activate.

With the spell in motion, Theresa and Jerry no longer know each other, and Jerry, who lost his wizard abilities when he married mortal Theresa, has regained his powers.  Now, Alex, Justin and Max must find a way to reverse the spell before it’s too late.  When they learn about the all-powerful ‘Stone of Dreams’ through Archie, a local street performer who knows about all the magic folklore, they must work together to save their family.

Demi and the Jonas Brothers will head back to “Camp Rock”, as well as Meaghan Jette Martin, Maria Canals-Barrera and Alyson Stoner. The characters will discover that some of the campers have ditched Camp Rock for a rival camp next door called Camp Star.

Also joining the film is hip hop artist Matthew “Mdot” Finley and Chloe Bridges, a 17-year-old classical pianist. Mdot plays the reigning  singer across the lake at Camp Star who challenges Camp Rock to a musical showdown.

So where does the Shakespeare plot come into play? It comes when Nate (Nick Jonas) falls for Dana (Chloe Bridges), the daughter of Camp Star’s owner. So Nick has a love interest! It was Joe last time, now it’s Nick’s turn.
