According to Wikipedia (which isn’t always right), Disney Channel has bought the rights to the children’s book “Kneeknock Rise” and have plans to turn it into a Disney Channel Original Movie.

We mentioned last week that Cody Linley (Hannah Montana’s Jake Ryan) would be starring in a new Disney Channel Original Movie entitled “Starstruck”, but now it looks like that information was wrong! According to a press release released by Disney, the movie will star Sterling Knight!
(Update: Disney sources have told us that Cody Linley was replaced by Sterling Knight because of scheduling issues. Cody will be taking to the stage in a Broadway play called “Over Here”. Congrats Cody!!)

I just received the stats for total viewers on “Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie” and man did they do well with the ratings!
Gaining nearly 2 million Viewers based on a full week of viewing, the premiere of Disney Channel’s 77th original movie, “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie,” became cable’s No. 2 scripted telecast of all time in Total Viewers (13.5 million), and cable’s No. 2 telecast ever in Kids 6-11 (5.3 million/21.8 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (4.6 million/19.0 rating), behind August 2007’s mega-hit, Disney’s “High School Musical 2.”

Thanks to Bloggirl and LinleyLove, we know that Hannah Montana star Cody Linley will be starring in a brand new Disney Channel Original Movie Called “Starstruck” in which he plays a popstar! Cody attended the first day of the D23 Expo and had this to say about the movie:

Disney Channel has released some new stills for the upcoming DCOM “Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie”, which airs August 28th. Not very far away at all!

Manhattan’s magical wizard siblings Alex (Selena Gomez), Justin (David Henrie) and Max Russo (Jake T Austin) accompany their parents on a Caribbean vacation where Alex’s inadvertent magic spell makes it so her parents have never met. Demi and the Jonas Brothers will head back to “Camp Rock”, as well as Meaghan Jette Martin, Maria Canals-Barrera and Alyson Stoner. The characters will discover that some of the campers have ditched Camp Rock for a rival camp next door called Camp Star.

Last night my family and I popped some popcorn and watched the new Disney Channel Original Movie “Princess Protection Program” on DVD. Disney has done it again and made one very cute movie!
I don’t want to tell you too much about it, because I don’t want to spoil it, but if you are a fan of Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, then you will love their on-screen chemistry.
PPP has a cute story line and teaches a lesson about giving to others and treating everyone with respect. We learn quite a bit about what the job of a Princess requires.
