Throughout the weeks leading up to the film, I will have bits of information to share with you including how they casted the movie, about Motocross and also information about the different stars. Today, here’s the reason why Corbin was drawn to the film!

Corbin Bleu was instantly drawn to the story because it deals with issues that every person, regardless of his/her stage in life, wrestles with – especially young people. “I think Cale’s journey is so real and it’s one that so many people go through,” Bleu continues. “They work hard, they have so much talent and good intentions, but they never seem to get that shot, that opportunity. This is a great story about always being prepared for and ready to embark on life changing opportunities.  You’ve got to keep working towards what you want.  When that window comes around, when opportunity knocks, you better be ready for it because second chances are rare.”

As Bleu crisscrossed the country for his charity work, he became very aware of the dilemma of kids today who have no male role model to whom they can look up. “There are a lot of kids that grow up with only one parent, sometimes no parents, so for young guys, it’s so tough when you don’t have that father figure in your life, that person who kind of takes you into manhood. Cale doesn’t have a man like that in his life.  He grew up with his mom and sister, so he’s the man of the house. He’s had to take on that responsibility of providing for a family – so there’s a huge unresolved issue about his father that dogs him and is always there in the background. He hasn’t had the choice of taking on responsibility. He’s a guy that works two jobs to help out his Mom while trying to pursue and not give up on his dream of becoming a motocross pro-racer.”

It took me awhile to get into this movie and I wasn’t quite sure about it at first. But, as I continued to watch it, it grabbed me. The story line and the lesson that this movie teaches is something every kid (and adult) needs to learn. My kids enjoyed it and they understood what it was trying to say to them.

I loved the animation in this film!

Here’s a little bit about the film:

One of China’s top grossing family films and Disney’s first Chinese language film, “The Secret of the Magic Gourd” will appeal to the world over with its heartwarming, fun-filled adventures and universal themes of perseverance and self-reliance.

Based on the beloved Chinese children’s novel, “The Secret of the Magic Gourd” tells the timeless story of a boy’s coming of age using a dazzling combination of live action, CGI animation and spectacular special effects.  In addition to the English soundtrack, Mandarin and Cantonese soundtracks are also available on the same DVD.

“The Secret of the Magic Gourd” is the story of Raymond, a young daydreamer whose vivid imagination has made him an outcast at school. On a solo fishing trip, Raymond reels in the mysterious Magic Gourd, who offers to make all his wishes come true. When each of Raymond’s seemingly simple wishes backfires, creating unintentionally hilarious consequences for the boy, he realizes that "there’s no such thing as an unearned reward," but with a little hard work, he can create his own kind of magic and achieve his dreams.

“High School Musical” star Corbin Bleu and “Cory in the House” cutie Madison Pettis, star together in the upcoming film “Free Style”.

I originally heard that this movie was going straight to DVD, but the Hollywood Reporter is stating that “Free Style” will be racing to a theater near you in February. I would love to see this movie in theaters, as opposed to just the DVD!

Corbin Bleu plays a young man determined to win a spot on the Grand National motocross racing team with the support of his mother (Penelope Ann Miller), little sister (Madison Pettis) and new girlfriend (Sandra Echeverria). Bleu’s real-life father, David Reivers, and 2007 U.S. Open Supercross Champion, Grant Langston, also star.

Here’s a music video “Moments That Matter” from the movie. We get to see both Corbin and Madison!

Corbin Bleu was also a part of the entertainment at the Kids’ Inaugural Concert. Lucy Liu introduced Corbin before he sang “Moments That Matter”.

Corbin wore an awesome blue jacket and greeted the front row as he sang.

Speed of Light, Corbin Bleu’s next album, drops on March 10, 2009. "Fear of Flying" and "Paralyzed" have already been released in full audio streams. I’ve listened to them both and think he sounds great. You can see Corbin in his newest movie “Freestyle”, which is slated to hit a theater new you on February 1, 2009.

Last night (January was VH1’s 2009 Critics Choice Awards and Corbin Bleu was there looking quite handsome. Corbin helped present an award with Amanda Bynes, who was pretty in pink.

On January 27th, The Secret of the Magic Gourd, comes to DVD. Corbin lent his voice for the animated film. He voices the title character, which is an 11 year old boy who finds a magical gourd while he is fishing. This Magic Gourd can grant him any wish he wants. Check out the trailer below.

Corbin Bleu joins the ranks of other celebs, sports stars and models who have done the commercial. Stars such as Heidi Klum, Michael Phelps and David Cook.

Corbin has been very busy lately. He just wrapped up the world tour for High School Musical 3. He has a new movie ‘Free Style’ coming out, as well as as a new album ‘Speed of Light’ coming out on March 10, 2009.
