Demi Lovato “Wow, I Don’t Hate This Enough to Run Offstage”
May 28, 2008 by Julie Bonner
The Observer has quite a long article on “Camp Rock’s” Demi Lovato. It starts off talking about the day she knew that she wanted to be on stage, to be a star. What was she doing that day?
“I sang at the kindergarten talent show,” Demi says. “I was on stage, and I actually messed up, but then it started going again, so it was good.”
I bet you’re thinking she sang something like Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star or another nursery rhyme right? Oh no, not even close, she sang “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion. “That’s a hard song to sing for anyone,” says her stepfather, “much less a 5-year-old.”
It was Demi messing up and sticking it out that made her realize that this was something she could do.
“I just kept it up,” Demi says. “And at that moment, when I stuck through it and stopped crying onstage, I guess that’s when I realized, ‘Wow, I don’t hate this enough to run offstage.’”
It was that day that Demi realized what she wanted to be when she grew up, at age 5!!
“It actually clicked in my head,” she says. “I decided I wanted to be a singer.”
The article on Demi goes on to talk about Camp Rock, going on tour with the Jonas Brothers, her BFF Selena Gomez, Disney wanting her to be a star, etc, etc, etc. It is a VERY long article but worth reading if you are a Demi Lovato fan.

Second Season of “As the Bell Rings” Premieres Saturday, July 5th
May 27, 2008 by Julie Bonner
The second season of Disney Channel’s sitcom short “As the Bell Rings” will premiere on July 5th. The series follows 6 friends - Danny, Tiffany, ToeJam, Brooke, Skipper and newcomer Lexi on their exchanges during classroom breaks.
Starring are Tony Oller as Danny, Lindsey Black as Lexi, Seth Ginsberg as ToeJam, Gabriella Rodriguez as Brooke, Collin Cole as Skipper and Carlson Young as Tiffany. The series is filmed in Austin, Texas at Del Valle High School. Throughout the season we will get to hear three songs sung by Tony Oller! I can’t wait to hear that.
In the premiere episode, Danny is sad that Charlotte (played by Demi Lovato) has moved away. But his spirits are soon lifted after the gang introduces him to Lexi and he then realizes he has met her before.
In the next few episodes, Lexi finds where she fits in with the group of students. Tiffany lets the guys in on her secret to taking the perfect school photo. Lexi is Danny’s muse as he writes a new song. Brooke films a documentary and Danny decides he wants to be a rock star. ToeJam gets study notes on “Romeo and Juliet” from Tiffany and Skipper doesn’t want to study for a test in Biology.
So, even though Demi Lovato isn’t in the series and she is on to other things, it sounds like it’s still going to be funny and have some great story lines.

Tony Oller’s First Popstar Photo Shoot - Video and Interview
April 19, 2008 by Julie Bonner
As the Bell Rings star Tony Oller was flown out to L.A. for his very first Popstar! photo shoot about a month ago. How exciting is that?! Here is the behind the scenes video of the shoot. He seems to have a cute personality and definitely looked like he was having a blast! He had the girl holding the video camera laughing.
Popstar! says that Tony Oller is a natural in front of the camera and they say it’s no surprise to them because he is so great on the Disney Channel Original Short Series As the Bell Rings. What does Tony think about working on the show?
“It’s just a big, fun environment, ” Tony says of the show. “It’s not work at all. It’s just goofing around and making some fun episodes. They’re like my family!”
And if you are wondering if Tony pays any attention to his MySpace comments…the answer is a big YES!
“I love getting messages daily, ” Tony tells Popstar! “Before, when I would come home and check my MySpace, it’s be like ‘Oh, okay, nothing here.’ [And I'd] sign off and go do something else. Now I write back to them for hours and hours. I definitely respect and appreciate anyone that’s listening to anything I do!”
Aw, he sounds like a sweetie.
Tony Oller Auditions for High School Musical 3
March 6, 2008 by Julie Bonner
Tony Oller, who stars in the Disney Channel’s “As the Bell Rings” has posted to his MySpace page that he has auditioned for High School Musical 3. What part did he audition for? Jimmie “The Rocket” Soto. Tony finds out March 12th if he got the part!
Here’s what he had to say about it:
“I hope I don’t jinx myself but I just wanted to say that i auditioned for HSM3.
It’s for a new character called Jimmie “The Rocket” Soto! I went to LA last week and I made it through all the rounds of auditions and got to screen test!
I am really excited because I did my best and the whole thing was fun not nerve wracking like usual so I have pretty good feelings about it. Getting to screen test was like a really cool birthday present. I was actually still sick when we flew on the plane so that stunk but I felt good by the end of the week. I met some really nice kids and all tbe Disney people were awesome. Kenny Ortega is da bomb!”
Well Tony, Disney Society wishes you the best of luck! I think he would be perfect for the part. What do you think? Should Kenny Ortega cast Tony Oller as Jimmie “The Rocket” Soto?
Here’s a slide show of Tony Oller pictures.
