AJ Michalka has joined Diane Lane and John Malkovich to star in the film! She tweeted about it yesterday saying, “I didn’t wanna announce this until I started filming, some of you already figured it out…I’m working on a film called Secretariat Xo AJ. It’s a Walt Disney feature film with Diane Lane and John Malkovich. Diane & Dylan Walsh play my parents. Randall Wallace is directing! Xo AJ So excited about this movie, it’s a beautiful true story. Having an amazing time filming in Kentucky! Finally the news has arrived ha!Xo AJ.”

This is very exciting news! “Secretariat” is a true story about the life story of Penny Chenery, owner of the racehorse Secretariat, who won the Triple Crown in 1973. Congrats to AJ. We are really looking forward to this movie and think she is just the girl for the part.

Disney Channel stars Aly & AJ are getting their own video game accessories line this fall! They have partnered up with Performance Design Products to launch a line aimed at female gamers.

The first product is coming out in September. It will be a line of guitar controllers for the Wii and PS2 versions of the Guitar Hero series. Wow! Video game accessories. Why would the sisters want to do this?

“We wanted to do something that really speaks to the girls who are fans of these games,” said Aly. “We love the idea of being able to bring them into our music by playing one of our guitars.”

Are Aly & AJ female gamers themselves? They sure are!

“Aly & AJ were an obvious choice for us. They are multi-talented artists who write their own music and are proficient musicians playing guitar, piano and percussion. They are also gamers themselves, and have been instrumental in the design process,” said John Moore, VP of Marketing of PDP.

I think this is a great idea! Good luck to Aly & AJ on their new adventure.

Aly & AJ Michalka look absolutely gorgeous! On May 20th, they both attended the Dolce party which was celebrating their 5 year anniversary.

As far as what these two young ladies are up to these days…

Alyson Michalka is starring as Charlotte Barnes in “Rock On”, which is set to make it debuted sometime in 2009. It’s about a high school outcast’s bond with a popular girl over their shared love of music results in them assembling a rock group that looks to win their school’s upcoming battle of the bands competition.

AJ Michalka is starring as Clarissa in “The Lovely Bones”, which has a release date of October 2009. It’s about a young girl who was brutally raped and murdered, watches the effects of her death on her family from Heaven, as her parents drift apart, her father becomes obsessed with vengeance and her sister grows into the woman she would never be.

It’s good to see that they are working and independently of each other.
