Dana Franks, from over at Media Scribbler, wrote an awesome review of Breakout, Miley Cyrus‘ new album that dropped today. Dana really focused on Miley’s music and set aside all of the scandals everyone else seems to be constantly talking about. Miley created an album, an album she worked very hard on, and the actual music deserves some attention, not just the person behind it. Here’s her review. I know you will enjoy it!

Miley Cyrus has said in interviews that she doesn’t have many fans over the age of 30. Well Miley, you might be wrong.

Admittedly, I found her show “Hannah Montana” by accident, and started watching it as a mindless diversion. My day job is in the news biz, and when you spend your day writing about rapists and murderers, you need something to take your mind off things. Some people turn to drink, others head to the gym. I go home and watch sitcoms. And nothing takes you away from the troubles of the world more than watching pre-teens whose biggest problem is forgetting their dad’s birthday.

But Miley the singer is working very hard to separate herself from Hannah the fictional pop star, and the results have been mixed. The “Meet Miley Cyrus” side of the last Hannah Montana album actually gave her a real, certifiable Pop Hit ™ and was played on mainstream radio. She was featured on “American Idol” and got her own paparazzi posse. But then when she showed up in that questionable picture in “Vanity Fair”, suddenly the engine seemed to blow out on the Miley rebranding bus.

Miley Cyrus was in New York this morning to perform for Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series. She sang her famous song ‘7 Things‘ in front of a huge screaming crowd of fans.

Popstar spent the day with the Jonas Brothers and they blogged about it here. They spent 12 hours following the JBs around as they filmed a top secret commercial for General Motors. It has to do with the green initiative, which I am sure we will get to see the commercials fairly soon.

How great and amazing are these pictures of Miley Cyrus making a music video for her new song “7 Things”? I love them!! Miley’s new album entitled “Breakout” is being released on July 22nd. The first single, “7 Things,” was one of the most added at U.S. top 40 radio outlets last week, garnering 255 spins. It is also enjoying some airplay at adult top 40 stations.

On “7 Things” Miley is taking aim at an ex who won’t apologize. She says, “And when you mean it, I’ll believe it / If you text it, I’ll delete it.”

Miley mentioned in an interview that she was a little nervous about this song because the words can be a little tricky. Well, she pulled it off and sang it well. Way to go Miley! Thanks Alex!
