While having lunch with Zac, Ashley tweeted “Eating lunch with my zachary!!! Wishin nessa was here! Its been too long.” Zac just arrived back in the states from Canada where he was filming “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud”. He’s had a busy year filming movies, which included “Me and Orson Welles”.

Ashley is also working on a new project, which is why she went back to blond. More pictures of the Paty’s pair below.

Zac is currently in Vancouver shooting a new film “The Life and Death of Charlie St. Cloud”. A crowd of fans gathered, so Zac rolled down his window and waved to his adoring fans, which made for some really cute Zac Efron pictures!

“The Life and Death of Charlie St. Cloud” is about a young man overcome by grief at the death of his younger brother. So much so that he takes a job as caretaker of the cemetery in which his brother is buried. Charlie has a special lasting bond with his brother though, as he can see him. Charlie meets up with his brother (Sam) each night to play catch and talk. Then, a girl comes into Charlie’s life and he must choose between keeping a promise he made to Sam, or going after the girl he loves.

It is set for a 2010 release and just began filming at the end of July.

Zac actually left the awards show with 3 surfboards! What’s he going to do with all of those? In the video clip below he said, “I’m going to put them with all of the rest of the surfboards. I hang them in my garage above my car.” Very cool.

Supposedly, Miley Cyrus is already attached to the film and she will be in the titular Gidget role which once belonged to Sally Fields. The original films were what launched Sally Fields into stardom.

Now we are hearing, that Zac Efron has been approached to play a modern day Frankie Avalon, which would be Miley’s character’s love interest in the movie. The film will be a musical comedy. Given Efron’s latest moves and comment, letting go of the Footloose role and saying he wants to be taken more serious as an actor, would lead us all to think this is not a role he would go for.

At the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, Vanessa Hudgens talked about how excited she is for her role in the upcoming flick “Sucker Punch”. She comments about how she gets to be in an action flick sooner than people expected her to be and how she would love to turn the role in an Angelina Jolie kind of character.

“I’m so stoked about it. I kept telling everyone, ‘I want to do an action film.’ But they were like, ‘Maybe in a few years.’ So I’m like, ‘Ha, in your face. I am doing one now!’”

Vanessa’s boyfriend Zac Efron commented on how he would like to be in the movie with Vanessa, but how that might not work out.

“I think it’s an all-girl movie. But if there’s any way to be in that film, I’d do it. I’d play a girl if I had to.”

Zac as a girl. What do you think?

I am looking forward to seeing Vanessa in an action film. We get to see what this girl can bring to the screen!

Zac’s movie award moment was kind of weird! Bruno was flying through the air and landed in Eminem’s lap. Strange! The HSM3 star also presented the Generation award to Zac Efron.

On the red carpet, Zac talked about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s kiss in “Twilight”. He and co-star Vanessa Hudgens were nominated in the same category. You can see what he thought of the kiss scene in the video clip here.

The film is about a boy named “Charlie St. Cloud, who is involved in a car crash alongside his younger brother Sam. Charlie survives, but Sam passes away in the accident. Thirteen years later, when Charlie is 28 years old, he works as a caretaker for the Marblehead cemetery, where Sam is buried. Every evening, he spends time to play with the ghost of Sam.”

The movie will take place in Vancouver, Canada and is set to begin filming this summer and to be released in the U.S. sometime in 2010.

In other Zac Efron news, rumors are flying that he may like to movie on from his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens and focus on his career. He supposedly believes he is tied down and that she holds him back.

"One big thing that means is no more Vanessa. When people see them together, they think of their characters," the source said.

I guess while he films this summer movie, it’ll test their relationship.

"This summer they’ll be spending lots of time apart. Zac does still love Vanessa. He’s agonizing about this!"

I don’t know if I believe any of this. But, we are dealing with Hollywood here. Romances come and go! Just when you think someone is doing great…boom…they break up.
