Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez chat with Access Hollywood about their hit movie, Princess Protection Program!

Selena talks about how the movie is mostly about friendship. “At first we kind of butt heads,” Selena reveals. “But you get to see our character arc and what we go through.”

As for the music video, Selena says it’s basically just she and Demi fooling around! “You get to see our real friendship during this music video.”

Selena also talks about how Disney is really good at reinventing princess stories and putting a unique twist to all of them.

About the movie:

Royalty meets reality in “Princess Protection Program,” an adventure comedy that tells the story of no-nonsense country girl Carter Mason and Rosalinda Marie Montoya Fiore, the teen princess of the fictitious paradise of Costa Luna. The two are thrown together after Carter’s father, an agent in the covert international Princess Protection Program (PPP), rescues Rosalinda from an attempted coup by a neighboring dictator. Tomboy Carter helps Rosie pose as a visiting cousin and, to return the favor, Rosie nominates Carter for Homecoming Queen. Although they’re polar opposites, Carter and Rosie must also find a way to foil the Costa Luna plot, not to mention the plans of a pair of jealous classmates.

Selena Gomez had a very busy weekend! On Friday night, Selena was seen departing from the Toronto airport, after being there for the “Princess Protection Program” premiere. She was spotted again on Saturday morning wearing the same outfit and looking quite worn out.

Before heading to the television studio, Selena and her mom stopped at subway to grab a bite to eat. Later in the day, she was seen again exiting the television studio and looking more refreshed. According to reports, she was filming a new music video for “Wizards of Waverly Place”.

Speaking of WOWP, Selena has said that most likely after Wizards is over, she’s done with television. She wants to go to college, as well as focus on movies. I guess she had a great experience filming “Ramona and Beezus”. There’s no word on how much longer WOWP will air on the Disney Channel, but we know we can at least expect one more season.

You’ll have to pardon all of my posts about Selena Gomez. The girl is just everywhere right now because of the release of “Princess Protection Program”!

In this interview, Selena talks about the movie and her character.

I saw the movie last night (read my review here) and I think you’re going to like it. I know I did! Also, don’t forget to enter my contest for a Princess Protection Program Party Kit. It has some cool stuff in it like a copy of the movie, princess crowns and lip gloss. Two runners-up will receive a copy of the movie as well.

Before Selena Gomez got her long locks chopped, she did a photo shoot for Parade Magazine. The article is entitled “The Very Sweet Life of Selena Gomez” and it’s all about her being a role model, Princess Protection Program, her friendship with BFF Demi Lovato, Taylor Lautner and being labeled as the next Miley Cyrus.

On setting a good example: But Selena seems unlikely to slip up. She’s all too aware that, as a star of the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place and of the new Disney TV movie Princess Protection Program, she has to set a good example for kids. “I think that it’s part of the job where you turn into a role model,” she says. “It’s not something I aimed toward. But now that it’s kind of a title, I do embrace it, because it’s very sweet to have little girls have posters and T-shirts of you.

On being linked to Taylor Launter: To her fans, Selena is as well-known for her rumored offscreen roles: ex-girlfriend of Nick Jonas (the youngest in the Jonas Brothers band) and current girlfriend of actor Taylor Lautner of the film Twilight. But while she declares, “I love talking about boys,” she won’t confirm or deny those relationships. “I used to worry about it, but I decided that it’s wrong not to go out to eat with friends or to the movies, because people might see me.” She adds: “It’s exhausting to shield yourself all the time. Still, it seems that boyfriends are all people care about when they write about me.” Read more

It’s obviously for their premiere because it was tonight! Here’s a picture of them on the red carpet.

Both Demi and Selena are obviously excited for the premiere because they’ve been tweeting about it.

Demi said, “Ahhh headed to the PPP premier!!! Sooo excited!!! Jammin’ to I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas ;)”

Selena said, “Why hello Toronto, Canada.” and “Demiiii!!! and Marissa! Early morning and Priscilla and I can’t sleep.”

Don’t forget to watch Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Princess Protection Program” which premieres on June 26th.

In an interview about the movie, Selena talks about how Disney tried to separate them during the filming of the movie by putting them in two separate rooms. Why? Because they thought they wouldn’t get any work done!

“They knew we would never get any work done because we’d spend the night and we’d stay up late and talk,” she explains. “That didn’t work — I ended up living in her room half the time.”

The BFFs ordered room service, watched movies and hit the beach together.

“You should be there for someone, and I think you should be honest with someone,” she says. “I don’t think it’s healthy to go around gossiping and telling other people (things). I think it’s nice to just sit down with someone and tell them how you feel and get it off your chest.”

PPP is also on DVD June 30th!
