Where Are They Now Wednesday: Raven Symone

June 24, 2009 by Julie Bonner

Raven Symone & Tinker BellWhat is Raven Symone up to these days? Most of us probably know her best from “That’s So Raven” and “The Cheetah Girls”. I did some digging around to see what Raven is up to and from the looks of it, she is staying plenty busy.

If you would like to see Raven in concert, she is participating in the Six Flags Summer Concert Series. Admission to her concert is free when you purchase a park ticket. I’ve never seen Raven in concert and would be curious to see what it’s like. She’s coming to my town in July and I just might have to go watch her.

As far as movies, Raven is still doing some work for Disney. She is the voice of Iridessa in “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure”, which comes out on October 27, 2009 on DVD. She will continue to do the voice of Iridessa for the next Tinker Bell movies, “Tinkerbell: A Midsummer Story”, which will be released sometime in 2010.

Raven is set to play Chris Parker in “Further Adventures in Babysitting”, which is still scripting and is also rumored to star Disney sensation Miley Cyrus. She is rumored to be playing Tamyra in “Little Fockers”, which is supposed to begin filming in July 2009 and will be released sometime in 2011.

Needless to say, Raven Symone is keeping busy with her music and acting. I am looking forward to seeing  her on the big screen again!

Raven Symone plays the voice of Iridessa in the Walt Disney Movie "Tinker Bell". I haven’t heard much about Raven lately, although she did recently update her blog ranting about the media and trying to squash some recent rumors about herself. She seemed a tad bit upset.

College Road Trip DVD Review

July 23, 2008 by Julie Bonner

college-road-trip-dvd.jpg

Last week I had the chance to review the College Road Trip DVD. Overall, the movie did not get good reviews so I was really curious if I would even like the movie. Guess what? I loved it! Sure, it wasn’t a major blockbuster hit, but overall I thought it was a really funny movie with a great message.

Raven-Symone and Martin Lawrence had great chemistry as father and daughter. Lawrence was awesome as the ultimate over-protective parent and Raven did a great job at being overwhelmingy annoyed by him. The two went through quite a lot together and in the end, Lawrence learned to let go a little and Raven was able to go to the college of her dreams.
