Matt Prokop Joins Brendan Fraser in Family Comedy “Furry Vengeance”

Matt Prokop may have been told he would not be asked back for “High School Musical 4″, but that didn’t stop him from going after roles elsewhere! According to the Hollywood Reporter, Matt has landed a role in a family comedy with Brendan Fraser called “Furry Vengeance”.
Matt will play “a sarcastic city kid transplanted to the country after his father moves them there to build a housing subdivision” and “the two do battle with local wildlife fed up with intrusions into their Oregon wilderness.”
Filming is scheduled to begin July 6 for a potential July 2010 release.

Matt Prokop Says “Vote for Me!”

“High School Musical 3″ star Matt Prokop has been nominated for a Poptastic Award and he wants your votes! He’s never been nominated for anything and is pretty excited about it.
Popstar caught up with Matt and he gives us a little “Please vote for me!” message. As most of you probably already know, Matt was not asked to reprise his HSM3 role in the upcoming “High School Musical 4″. He announced back in early March that Disney was taking the movie in a different direction.

No HSM4 for Matt Prokop

Disney announced last week that they will be continuing with the HSM franchise and will start filming “High School Musical 4” later this year.
The old cast – Zac, Vanessa, Ashley, Corbin, Lucas, Monique – will not be joining in on the new movie, since they have all graduated high school and moved on.
So, who’s taking over the franchise? Will is be the new cast like Jemma, Chris and Matt? Well, according to Matt Prokop’s latest MySpace update, it will not include him.

Can Matt Prokop Carry the Lead Role in ‘High School Musical 4′?

Matt Prokop has made his big screen debut in “High School Musical 3″. Kenny Ortega brought in 3 newbies, who most likely are there to carry on the HSM franchise.
So now that you have seen Prokop in action, do you think he has what it takes to step in and be the lead role in a new High School Musical film? I thought his most brilliant scene in the whole movie was when he took over Troy’s spot in the musical and sang with Sharpay. Classic scene!
