Jemma McKenzie-Brown Not in “High School Musical 4″

We are getting even more news about the cast, or lack of cast, for “High School Musical 4″. Matt Prokop announced on his MySpace at the beginning of this month, that he would not be in HSM4. It’s just been announced that Jemma McKenzie-Brown, who played Tiara in HSM3, will not be in the movie either.

She said: “I think it’s been decided they’re going for a whole new route with it which is a shame but I had a really good time doing the third one.”

She added: “I’m back to auditioning and have got some cool opportunities and good scripts so hope something comes up!

“When I’m 16 and have left school I can start concentrating on other stuff and in ten years time I’ll hopefully have a film or two under my belt but I love theatre too so that would be fun.”

I actually think this might be a smart move. I wasn’t quite sure about these “newbies” that they brought in for HSM3 anyway. Something seemed a little off to me. If they are going to do another High School Musical movie without the original cast, they really do need to surprise us and it sounds like that’s exactly what Disney has up their sleeve. We know the story line, but the cast is a mystery.

Jemma McKenzie Brown is Pretty in Pink

Do you like Jemma’s dress? It’s a Cup Tulip Dress by Rare and I think she’s looking gorgeous! She completed the look with a pair of gold pumps. You can see more pictures of Jemma and the dress below.

Jemma McKenzie Brown became well known when she played Tiara in “High School Musical 3″. Disney has announced that there will be a “High School Musical 4″, which will air on the Disney Channel sometime in 2010. Matt Prokop announced that he was not asked to reprise his role, but no word yet if Jemma will come back for HSM4.

Jemma McKenzie-Brown at Shopaholic Premiere

“High School Musical 3” star Jemma McKenzie-Brown attended the UK premiere of “Confessions of a Shopaholic”. Check out her shiny dress and black nails!

Jemma played Sharpay’s assistant in HSM3 and quite awhile ago I ask you all if you thought she could carry on the Sharpay-like role in a “High School Musical 4”. I thought the poll results were interesting. Check them out here.

HSM4 will be a television movie like the first two HSMs. Do you think it’ll be a success? I have my doubts! +1 picture under.

MTV’s Rookies and Breakthroughs of 2008

We mentioned that the Jonas Brothers made MTV’s Rookies and Breakthroughs of 2008 list, but who else made it and why? MTV has named a few other Disney stars who have earned a spot on this list. They are Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and the New Class of High School Musical 3.

Here’s what they had to say about each young star:

Demi Lovato: Early this year, Demi Lovato found herself working alongside the Jonas Brothers in “Camp Rock.” She quickly scaled the Disney ranks, where she toured with the JoBros, denied she had any feud with supposed rival Miley Cyrus and released her album “Don’t Forget,” which debuted at #2 on the charts. She’s got a TV show, “Sonny with a Chance,” in the works, and we’re thinking that Demi has proven she’s worth her weight in mouse ears.

Selena Gomez: She kicked off the year with her TV show, “Wizards of Waverly Place,” only to find herself pitted against Miley Cyrus, starring in a Jonas Brothers music video and accidentally leaking news that there’s a “Wizards” movie in the works. She also became a member of the Jonas Brothers girlfriends club when she reportedly began dating Nick over the summer.

HSM3 – New Class: Justin Martin and Jemma McKenzie-Brown are hoping to pick up where Zac, Vanessa, Corbin and Ashley left off. Describing themselves as a “breath of fresh air” to the franchise, and with rumors of a fourth “High School Musical” in the works, there’s definitely the possibility that these two young’uns have what it takes to sing and dance their way into the hearts of teens everywhere.

Can Jemma McKenzie Brown Carry on a Sharpay-Like Role in HSM4?

Jemma McKenzie-Brown made her splash on the big screen in High School Musical 3, by playing Sharpay’s assistant. For those of you who have seen it, you know what happens at the end of the movie.

Last week I asked you if you though Matt Prokop could carry on the lead role in High School Musical 4. Here’s how you voted:

Yes! – 28%
Nope – 48%
Maybe – 32%

Definitely take a minute to read the comments on that post. It is interesting to see the different views that there are about his acting abilities and how he did in HSM3.
