Movie Monday: Ponyo New Trailer

June 29, 2009 by Julie Bonner

There’s a new trailer out for Disney’s upcoming film Ponyo.

The beginning is very similar to the first trailer, but starting around 50 seconds you see them name all the voices in the film, including Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas!

The film follows a young and overeager goldfish named Ponyo decides to leave her underwater world behind after making friends with a five-year-old boy who lives in a small coastal village.

Ponyo comes to the big screen as imagined by legendary Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki, whose credits include films Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle.

Ponyo hits the big screen on August 14, 2009.

‘Bedtime Stories’ in Theaters December 25th

October 18, 2008 by Julie Bonner

bedtime-stories-01

Walt Disney Pictures presents "Bedtime Stories" due in theaters on Christmas Day (December 25, 2008).  From director Adam Shankman ("Hairspray", "The Wedding Planner") this movie features a star cast, including Adam Sandler, Keri Russell, Guy Pearce, Courteney Cox and Russell Brand. Keri Russell is one of my favorite actresses (I was a "Felicity" fan!) so I am really looking forward to this movie.

"Bedtime Stories" is an adventure comedy starring Adam Sandler, who plays Skeeter Bronson. Skeeter is a hotel handyman whose life changes forever after he tells his niece and nephew a bedtime story that ends up coming true. Attempting to use this for his own advantage, things go a little awry when the kid’s contributions to the story turn his life upside down.

This sounds like one funny movie and perfect for a Christmas Day movie for the entire family to go see.

"Confessions of a Shopaholic", starring Isla Fisher, is about a New York City girl who has a tiny problem - she’s addicted to shopping and is drowning in debt. Due in theaters February 13, 2009, this romantic comedy is sure to delight female movie-goers. I myself am a romantic comedy nut, so you can bet I will be seeing this one!

Isla Fisher plays Rebecca Bloomwood, who has dream of working for a top fashion magazine, but is having problems getting her foot in the door. Rebecca snags a job as an advice columnist for a new financial magazine published by the same company. Overnight, her column becomes extremely popular which turns her into a celebrity.

Rebecca’s shopping and debt start spiraling out of control and threatens to destroy her love life and her career. While trying to keep everything from falling apart, she is forced to reevaluate what’s really important in life.

The film is produced by the amazing Jerry Bruckheimer and director P.J. Hogan and includes quite the star line-up.

Teaser Trailer for Walt Disney’s ‘The Princess and The Frog’

July 30, 2008 by Julie Bonner

Walt Disney studios has released the first teaser trailer for “The Princess and the Frog“, which is making its way to theaters sometime in 2009. It’s the first 2D animated feature since Home on the Range in 2004.

The trailer is very cute! I love how the lightning bug says, “It looks like this could take some time“. Hey, it can’t be easy kissing a green slimy frog. Does this look like a movie you will want to see?

Orlando Bloom Will Be the Prince of Persia

April 7, 2008 by Julie Bonner

It was just announced that Orlando Bloom will star in the lead role in the upcoming Disney Movie “Prince of Persia:Sands of Time“. Allegedly, he beat out Zac Efron for the role. I like Zac, but I think Orlando will be perfect for this role.

The deal is reportedly worth around 40 million and will start production in July. The great Jerry Bruckheimer is the director.

Three New Stan Lee Movies for Disney

April 3, 2008 by Julie Bonner

If you are a comic book lover, then you know the name Stan Lee. He is the genius behind Spiderman, The Hulk, X-Men, Fantastic Four and more. Lee has set up three new projects at Disney and if they are anything like these others, they are going to be a big hit.

Here’s a description of the three projects:

The three projects are “Nick Ratchet” (about the adventures of a private eye), “Blaze” (described only as an “action-adventure”), and “Tigress” (about a woman that starts to develop feline instincts).

When asked about these projects Lee replies, “I only hope Disney will have room at the theme park once they become the tentpole franchises that we envision them to be.” Like I said, they are going to be BIG!

Is Miley Cyrus an “All-American Girl”?

April 3, 2008 by Julie Bonner

Are you familiar with the popular teen novel All-American Girl by Meg Cabot? It is a very popular book (as are all of her books) and Disney is once again trying to make a movie based on the novel. They made the same move back in 2004 and were set to cast Raven Symone as the lead girl, Samantha Madison. Well, supposedly there were some arguments about the casting decision and the rights to the book were given back to Cabot.

Disney now has another leading lady in mind for the role and it’s Miley Cyrus. Disney is hoping to launch Miley more into movies and this would do it. The release date has been set to early 2010. I can’t wait to see Miley break away from the Hannah Montana role and really further her acting career. Don’t get me wrong, I love the show, but obviously at some point she has to move on. I think Miley’s movie career is just beginning and that we are going to see some more great things from her.

If you have no idea what the book All-American Girl is about, read the description below the cut.

April 2, 2008 by Julie Bonner

This is an awesome video! If you are a Chronicles of Narnia fan then you will definitely want to watch this. It takes you behind the scenes of the new movie “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian“. They say this movie has more action and drama than the first one. It really does look like a good movie and I plan on seeing it.
