Zac Efron won “Best Male Performance” at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards for his role as Troy Bolton in “High School Musical 3″. Congrats Zac!

Zac Efron

Zac’s movie award moment was kind of weird! Bruno was flying through the air and landed in Eminem’s lap. Strange! The HSM3 star also presented the Generation award to Zac Efron.

On the red carpet, Zac talked about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s kiss in “Twilight”. He and co-star Vanessa Hudgens were nominated in the same category. You can see what he thought of the kiss scene in the video clip here.

Vanessa has received an MTV Movie Awards nomination for her role in “High School Musical 3”. Where can we see Vanessa next? In an entirely different role in the teen musical comedy “Bandslam”.

The HSM star chatted with MTV about her new role.

"I didn’t think it would be this much music when I came here," she told MTV News on the set of "Bandslam" in Austin, Texas, last year. "And they are like, ‘We are going to have two weeks of music rehearsals,’ and I was like, ‘What?’ But it was really cool. It’s definitely not the kind of music I do normally.

"It’s more rock and actually I play guitar in it, and I had to learn and I was really nervous because I didn’t want to look stupid," she said about having to learn to play an instrument for the film. "But I think I pulled it off — I’m keeping my fingers crossed."

You can catch Vanessa Hudgens in “Bandslam” on August 14, 2009. More photos of Vanessa at LAX below.

Zac Efron “I Think I’m Going to Stick with Acting”

March 2, 2009 by Julie Bonner

On Sunday, March 1st, Zac Efron tried going under cover in Hollywood, CA by driving around in a Toyota minivan. Unfortunately, just about nothing gets passed the paparazzi these days. They spotted him and snapped his picture. My question is, who’s minivan is that?

In other Zac Efron news, the “High School Musical” star has recognized by movie goers as the Breakthrough Performer of the Year. This is a new award from ShoWest and they gave it to Zac. Sweet!

If you watched any of the HSM3 extras on the DVD, then you probably saw the clip where Zac is trying his hand at being behind the camera. After messing with it for a few seconds, he gets called to the set and says, “I think I’ll stick with acting”. Well, we would like you too!

What’s up next for Zac? Find out below! Read more

Concepts Behind the “High School Musical 3” Costumes

February 25, 2009 by Julie Bonner

Wildcat Cheerleader

My friend Nikki at Celeb Look, had the opportunity to talk to Caroline B. Marx, who was the costume designer for “High School Musical 3”. She shared with Nikki her concepts behind the designs and also gave her some tips on what’s hot for spring and promo season.

On whether it was easier to expand on the existing characters or design for the new ones:The thing is that you want to make every single person different. It’s interesting. Normally when I go into a film they don’t exist. I’m the one who comes up with the idea. I do research and kind of look into their character, their personality, where they came from. With the new characters it was definitely like that. In Jimmy, to me, the youngest, hippest kids out have the Emo vibe with the skater mixed in. I chose really cool, up and coming designers like Fyasko and Space Craft with Draven and Vans shoes. That’s what the younger, skater/surfer kids are wearing! With Jemma, I kind of gave her an English school girl look. Really cute and conservative jumpers and blazers. We used a lot of Rugby and Ralph Lauren, American Eagle, argyle sweaters, stuff like that. At the end, in the extended version, you’ll see her in a full blown English riding costume.”

This was a great interview and if you loved the costumes in HSM3 and want to know more about what all went in to create them, then read the rest of the interview:
