“Sonny with a Chance” Stars’ Radio Disney Takeover

Disney Channel stars Tiffany Thornton, Doug Brochu and Brandon Mychal Smith ("Sonny With a Chance) joined Radio Disney on-air personality Ernie D. in studio for a Take Over to talk about the return of their hit series on Sunday, November 15, 2009.

The new episode “Cookie Monsters” airs tonight (November 15) @8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT. In "Cookie Monsters", Zora gets challenged by the studio head’s daughter, Dakota, to sell the most Blossom Scout cookies ever, and Sonny steps in to help Zora win. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady come up with a scent to attract girls, and Tawni promises not to look in the mirror for two days.

Sonny with a Chance “Hart to Hart” Airs on November 1st

Have you been dying for a new episode of Sonny with a Chance? You can see one on November 1st! It’s called “Hart to Hart” and it guest stars Nancy McKeon. Here are some still from the new episode.

In "Hart to Hart", Sonny convinces Tawni to fire her overbearing manager, not realizing it’s Tawni’s mother. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady try to get past the new security guards, played by ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and his puppet Walter, in a new episode of "Sonny With A Chance," SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Another Fun Sunday Night Event on Disney Channel This Sunday

It’s another awesome Sunday night event, with all new episodes of Sonny with a Chance and JONAS and a repeat, but goodie of Hannah Montana. Check out this promo and be sure and tune in so you don’t miss new episodes from some of your favorite Disney Channel series.

Hannah Montana: In "B-B-B-Bad to the Chrome", after Mamaw comes to visit, driving cross-country in her old car, Miley, Jackson and Robby decide it’s time to get her a new one, without realizing how attached she is to "Loretta." After they trade in her old car for a nice new one, Mamaw is so distraught that they try to get it back, only to find it’s already been sold to the junk yard. When they’re too late to save it from being scrapped, they must find a way to recreate her beloved car. Meanwhile, business starts to suffer at Rico’s after Oliver gets in a fight with Lilly for forgetting their 100 day anniversary.

Sonny with a Chance: In "Guess Who’s Coming To Guest Star", while Chad is on the set of "So Random!" preparing for his guest appearance, he and Sonny engage in a game of reverse psychology to convince the other that they will fall in love by the end of the week. Meanwhile, when Nico and Grady are kicked out of their dressing room so Chad can use it for the week, they take over Marshall’s office.

JONAS: In “Forgetting Stella’s Birthday”, Stella’s only birthday wish is to have all of her best buds at her party, but the Lucas boys may turn out to be party poopers when their record label invites them to attend an important music event on the same night.

I received my preview copy of Sonny with a Chance: Sonny’s Big Break on DVD and it’s a great one! You get four episodes of the Disney Channel hit and they are some of the best ones of the season. The bonus episodes are also worth the purchase of the DVD. Demi’s audition tape is great. That girl is so talented!

What’s Happening on the Disney Channel for August 2009?

Just because it’s summer and everybody else is showing re-runs, doesn’t mean the Disney Channel follows suit. Nope. They continue with new premieres in August of your favorite shows and movies. Here’s a short summary of what you can expect in August on the Disney Channel. (Schedule subject to change.):

New episodes of Hannah Montana:

For (Give) a Little Bit (Airs August 9th): Miley accidentally reveals an embarrassing secret about Jackson during a live radio interview, and to make up for it, takes him to a cool party. When her own embarrassing secret is revealed, she blames Jackson and purposely embarrasses him in front of his crush, only to find out Lilly was the one who let it slip. Meanwhile, Rico asks Robby to teach him how to country line dance to impress a girl in a new.
B-B-B-Bad to the Chrome (Airs August 23)

New episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place:

Wizards & Vampires vs. Zombies (Airs August 8th):Justin convinces Juliet that their prom date will be the most memorable ever. Meanwhile Alex opts to plan a zombie themed anti-prom, but is unprepared for the unexpected real zombies that arrive for the ultimate prom dance off.
Retest (Airs August 21st): Jerry and his siblings, Kelbo and Megan, decide to retake the Wizard test that, in their teen years, determined who got to keep their powers. When Alex, Justin and Max see how competitive the contest gets, they realize the same test could eventually tear their family apart as well.

New episodes of JONAS:

Three Musketeers (Airs August 9th): Kevin, Joe and Nick audition for “The Three Musketeers” and land the lead roles, but stage fright gets the best of Joe and he drops out of the play. Joe immediately regrets his decision as he becomes increasingly jealous of Stella’s crush on school jock Van Dyke Tosh who has replaced him as the third musketeer. Meanwhile, Macy loses her good luck charm and feels it is the reason behind her losing streak.

Frantic Romantic (Airs August 16th): After a chance encounter on the red carpet, the tabloids have labeled Joe and diva actress Fiona Skye as a couple. While Fiona is happy with the boost to her career, Joe enlists Kevin, Nick, Stella and Macy to break-up the fictional relationship
Detention (Airs August 23rd): Joe tries to prove to a classmate that he doesn’t get special treatment after she is given detention and he is let off the hook for accidentally setting off the fire alarm. Meanwhile, Macy helps Stella, who is terrible at sports, fulfill her P.E. requirement.

New episodes of The Suite Life on Deck:

The Spy Who Shoved Me (Airs August 7th): A microchip with secret information on it goes missing and the twins help a spy recover it.
In The Line of Duty (Airs August 21st): As punishment for setting off a stink cloud, Zack is made hall monitor, a role which he takes way too seriously. After sending half of the school to detention, Zack experiences the repercussions of upsetting all of his friends. Meanwhile, Bailey gets a job at London’s boutique, an extension of London’s personal closet

New episodes of Sonny with a Chance:

Sonny In The Kitchen With Dinner (Airs August 16th): Tawni has a crush on the new intern and enlists Sonny to teach her how to act “normal” to impress him. After a slew of unfortunate events, Sonny must use her resources to help save their date. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady attempt to get a sandwich named after them.

New Disney Channel Original Movie:

Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie (Airs August 28th): The story of “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” begins in New York with the Russos busily packing for their Caribbean vacation. Middle child Alex is planning to stay back with her best friend Harper while her family is away. When Alex uses magic to defy her mother and go to a party with Harper, a disappointed Theresa insists Alex go on the family vacation.
Upon their arrival at the resort, Theresa excitedly points out all the locations she and Jerry visited when they first met and snaps pictures of the family who, to their chagrin, are dressed in matching tropical outfits. When a cute wind surfing instructor invites Alex out, Theresa won’t allow her to go. Frustrated and upset with her mom, Alex wishes her parents never met, prompting an unintended spell to activate.

It looks like Tawni is getting co-star Sonny in a bit of a mess again in this new episode of Sonny with a Chance. Airing on August 16th is the hilarious sounding “Sonny in the Kitchen with Dinner”.

Sonny with a Chance – “Tales from the Prop House”

On August 2nd on the Disney Channel @ 8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT, a new episode of “Sonny with a Chance” is on. It’s called “Tales from the Prop House” and it sounds like a great Sonny episode. Check out these stills.

In "Tales From The Prop House", the cast of "So Random!" receives 24 hours notice that their beloved prop house will soon become the meditation room for the "MacKenzie Falls" cast. After reminiscing about past sketches and great memories, the "So Random!" kids decide to put up a fight and win their room back.

Disney Channel Has One Big Week in Ratings

On Sunday (July 5), the Disney Channel had some amazing ratings. It started off with the hour long broadcast of the Hannah Montana episode “He Could Be The One”. This special episode, according to Variety, was cable’s most watched program last week. It drew in 6.9 million viewers!

In “He Could Be the One” part one, Miley agrees to go steady with Jake again, but she worries that all of the times she complained about Jake might have turned Robbie against the young man. When she learns that Robbie dislikes Jesse, a trouble making teen guitarist in Hannah’s band, Miley hatches a plan to make Jake look great.

In part two, Miley’s scheme to get Jake back into Robbie’s good graces works out beautifully and she believes that they are headed for a happy ending. Things change, however, when Miley realizes that Robbie misjudged Jesse’s true nature and she now finds herself drawn to the handsome musician. You can watch both episodes here.

I watched this episode and it definitely ranks up there with one of my favorites.

Not only did Hannah Montana do well, but two shows that followed had great rankings as well. “Sonny with a Chance” had 5.17 million viewers and “JONAS” 4.03 million.

The Disney Channel topped ABC, NBC and Fox. Nice.
