2009 Disney Channel Games Canceled

It’s official! We had all been hearing whispers that the 2009 Disney Channel Games might not happen, and it seems those rumors were true.

The Orlando Sentinel has confirmed that the games will not happen at all and that instead, Disney is putting their focus elsewhere.

A Disney Channel spokesperson said, "While we are proud of Disney Channel Games and its great success over the past two years, this summer we are focusing on the launch of a new charitable initiative with Disney Channel and Disney XD stars. Details will be announced shortly."

Awwww, bummer! Are you guys sad about this news?

2009 Disney Channel Games

I have had tons of emails asking about the 2009 Disney Channel Games. You guys want to know when they are and who’s going to be there. I did some digging and here is what I found (via Wikipedia and various other sites). Remember, this information CAN change and probably will!

2009 is supposed to be the biggest Disney Channel Games ever! It will air during “Summer Rocks” and will include 8 Outrageous Events, the Opening Ceremonies and Closing Ceremonies, 2 DCOM’s and Another Wish Gone Amiss all air during summer 2009. The DC Games will total 13 Episodes.

There will be 4 teams and I have heard that the Jonas Brothers will be there. That’s all I know for now, as far as who’s going to participate.

Here are the dates that were listed on Wikipedia. I already know that part of this schedule is wrong because it has Princess Protection Program airing in August and it’s supposed to premiere in January. But I thought I would post it anyway and we’ll see later what’s correct.

2008 Disney Channel Games Day 3

Day 3 of the 2008 Disney Channel Games aired last week and the teams are getting seriously competitive. It’s so fun seeing them all like this! At the beginning, the Disney Channel stars got to taste some food from all around the world. The DC games includes International Disney Channel stars and they shared some food that they eat in their country. It’s always interesting to me to see what other countries eat.

What do you all think of the DC Games so far? Are they as good as last year’s?

In Part 2, 3 and 4 we get to see the “Baby Face-Off”. This was a very fun relay to watch!

You can catch the next episode of the Disney Channel Games on Saturday, August 2nd. The teams weave through an obstacle course while linked together, plus other games and challenges. The Jonas Brothers will perform music from “A Little Bit Longer”.
