“As the Bell Rings” star Tony Oller turns 19 today. Happy Birthday Tony!

On February 15th, Tony announced on his MySpace blog that his single “All I Need” would finally be released. He had us all guessing what his Norway Project was and at the end of January, he filled us in:

“Here’s the 411 on the Norway project. I flew to Norway in December to record 3 new songs and I taped 2 really cool music videos and you’ll be able to download the songs soon!! My first solo single is called ‘All I Need‘ and I uploaded a little sneak peek about making the music video. My first song will be available on the ZOOVOLUTION.COM site on FEBRUARY 15 and on I-TUNES on APRIL 1!

“Zoovolution is a cool new online virtual world by a company in Norway called Web & Circus. It teaches kids and teens about wildlife awareness and global responsibility. ZOOVOLUTION launches tomorrow but you can get a preview at Zoovolution.com.

“When they asked me if I’d lend my voice for a good cause I definitely wanted to be a part of the whole Zoovolution project! I taped some promos about endangered animals and I’m really proud and honored to be asked to record three great songs. Part of the proceeds from the songs will go to different animal charities. So I asked if I could designate the Lions, Tigers and Bears sanctuary I recently visited near San Diego and they said yes!”

Don’t forget that tonight, February 16th, is Disney Channel’s Night of Stars. It is definitely a star-studded night that you are not going to want to miss! Here’s a quick list of what the night will hold:

February 16th is all about a Night of Stars!

The evening is full of new episodes and new music videos. You can see brand new episodes of “Hannah Montana”, “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “As the Bell Rings”.

We will also get to see new Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus videos.

The night is also the debut of the DCOM “Dadnapped”. Yep, it’s a BIG night! Here’s the promo for the new “As the Bell Rings”, starring Tony Oller.

“As the Bell Rings” cutie Tony Oller is getting to see quite a bit of snow for this holiday season. That’s because he’s in Norway!

“Well you know how i got some snow in houston the other day? well i saw some more snow yesterday where i am right now…..in NORWAY!!! yep that,s right i am in the country norway! i,m here for a project and i,ll tell you more about it later on but right not jet lag has me seriously delirious.”

I wonder what project he could be talking about? I checked his IMDB page and nothing was listed, so it’s a mystery to me! We hope you enjoy your time in Norway Tony. You can read the rest of his blog entry here.

It’s the first “As the Bell Rings” episode of season 2 called “The (Not So) New Girl“. Watch and enjoy!

The new season of “As the Bell Rings” starts today, July 5th! Watch the promo for the new episode here. We get to meet new cast member Lindsey Black, who plays Lexi. She took Demi Lovato’s place.

Here’s a description of the premiere episode:

“In the next few episodes, Lexi finds where she fits in with the group of students. Tiffany lets the guys in on her secret to taking the perfect school photo. Lexi is Danny’s muse as he writes a new song. Brooke films a documentary and Danny decides he wants to be a rock star. ToeJam gets study notes on “Romeo and Juliet” from Tiffany and Skipper doesn’t want to study for a test in Biology.”

The second season of “As the Bell Rings” kicks off on July 5th. Here is the promo and we get to see a glimpse of the new girl Lexi, played by Lindsey Black. You can read all about the premiere episode here.

I know a lot of people are sad to see Demi Lovato go, but as we all know, she is on to other things. I can’t wait to see how Lexi fits in with the group.

According to an article in The Wall Street Journal, Selena Gomez helped her BFF Demi Lovato land her roles on the Disney Channel. The article is about Demi’s rise to fame.

The article states that Demi’s family’s desire to get into the Disney empire, was as great as Disney’s desire to find some new talent. Demi’ mom said, “Take it from someone who tried for eight years to make it, once you get in you’re thankful.”

Now Disney has the whole image that its stars are manufactured. People think that they want to turn everyone into an exact replica of Hilary Duff or Miley Cyrus. Demi says that’s just not true.

She says, “Disney has an image that’s not the reality. Artists aren’t as manufactured as they appear.”

So how did Demi’s friend Selena get snatched up by Disney? Demi’s mom, who is a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, took both Demi and Selena to a talent search in Austin, TX organized by Disney. The execs noticed Demi, but they tapped Selena instead. They were looking for an adorable Hispanic girl and Demi’s mom said that Selena was just what they were looking for. So, Demi went home where she continued to act and sing.

In 2006, Demi attended another Disney talent search. They cast her for the short series “As the Bell Rings“, but Selena has a big part in Demi landing the Camp Rock role, as well as some others. During a break from filming “Wizards of Waverly Place” Selena called Demi out of the audience and had her belt out a version of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Ain’t No Other Man’. That got the Disney execs attention!

Now Demi not only landed the role as Mitchie on Camp Rock, but also Princess Protection Program (alongside Selena), Welcome to Mollywood and a contract with Hollywood Records. WOW! What a great article.

Brad Kavanagh is a British actor from Whitehaven in Cumbria. He is 15 years old and made his acting debut in Billy Elliot the Musical as Billy’s best friend Michael. He was only 11 years old.

Brad is best known for his role as Dylan on the Disney Channel UK show “As the Bell Rings“. He has written a few songs including “As the Bell Rings” and “Right Time“. He is said to be the British Zac Efron.

In 2008 he presented the talent competition “My School Musical“, which was also on Disney Channel UK.
