Disney Channel Auditions

According to IMDB, the film is about a high school hockey player forced to lead his sister’s Girl Guide troop. I am sure Disney will choose current Disney stars to play the lead roles, but that shouldn’t stop you from going after those supporting roles!

If you could pick a lead character for the hockey player and his sister, which two Disney stars would you pick? I can definitely see Hutch Dano, who stars in Disney XD’s Zeke & Luther, playing this role. He would make a great hockey player!

“Smart Alec” follows a geeky teenager who blossoms over the summer and now she fits in with the popular crowd. She tries to convince the in-crowd that being smart is cool and the geeky crowd that being pretty doesn’t make you stupid.

Speaking of dancing…according to Actinginfo, the choreographer for Camp Rock 2 is currently doing the casting for dancers! In order to be considered for a role, you need to send in a recent photo of yourself, your resume and a video of your dance moves (YouTube link is fine). They are mainly looking for dancers 18 and over, but who look like they could be in high school.

Production on the show started this month, with plans for a 2010 premiere.

Starring are Bridgit Mendler, a recurring guest star on Disney Channel’s "Wizards of Waverly Place" and guest star on "JONAS," as Teddy Holliday; Jason Dolley, known to Disney Channel viewers from his headlining roles in "Hatching Pete," "Minutemen" and "Cory in the House," as Casey Holliday; introducing Bradley Steven Perry as Gabe Holliday; Eric Allan Kramer ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "My Name Is Earl") as Bob Holliday; and Leigh Allyn Baker ("Will & Grace) as Amy Holliday.

The series follows two teenagers, Teddy and Casey Holliday, and their 10-year-old brother, Gabe, whose parents enlist their help when they return to work after the birth of their fourth child, Charlotte, aka Charlie. With their parents juggling full time careers, the older Holliday siblings pitch in, getting very familiar with baby formula, burp clothes and babysitting while navigating typical teenage life.  

In each episode Teddy creates a personalized video diary for Charlie.  Each video will chronicle Teddy’s daily adventures and mishaps for Charlie to use as advice when her big sister is no longer living at home.

Walt Disney Pictures

Not only are they looking for people to be in the film, but they need horses! The website dedicated to the horse says they are going to have an open casting call for horses to portray the legendary 1973 Triple Crown winner.

"The selection of the horses to portray Secretariat is a matter of great interest to me," said Penny Chenery, Secretariat’s owner. "I am delighted Disney is embracing the challenge of finding the best representative for my handsome colt."

Filming starts September 28th! This sounds like a great film and I love the fact that it’s a true story.

Now that you know Camp Rock 2 is a go, I imagine you want to know about the auditions! ActingInfo has the details you need for sending in your headshot and resume. There will be open calls for extras and dancers, but no information for that is available yet.

Also joining the film is hip hop artist Matthew “Mdot” Finley and Chloe Bridges, a 17-year-old classical pianist. Mdot plays the reigning  singer across the lake at Camp Star who challenges Camp Rock to a musical showdown. Nate (Nick Jonas) falls for Dana (Chloe Bridges), the daughter of Camp Star’s owner.

According to Hannah Montana Casting, they are looking for people over 18, who have previous acting experience and/or training. Professional representation (an agent) is not required.

The submission period is from July 6 – July 10. If you are chosen to audition, you must be able to get yourself to Los Angeles, CA. There are some strict rules to follow regarding submission, so be sure and read everything very carefully! You can check out all the details here.

Auditions for Disney has just posted the audition info. The open casting calls have not been announced yet, but stay tuned.

Miley’s new Disney movie has created some much needed jobs for about 250 Georgians. They won a location battle with North Carolina, which is exciting because I used to live there!

Be Prepared

The first thing to do is read the script and prepare for the part. Find out everything you can about the character you’re going to be playing. The lines aren’t important yet. Just commit your focus to the character. How old, where from, how the character feels about other characters in the story. Only after you know everything you need to know about the character do you start learning your lines. Use whatever method you feel most comfortable with. You won’t be required to know the whole script at the audition but be prepared. It’s okay to be nervous. Even experienced actors get nervous at an audition, but the casting director will know you are serious about this if you seemed prepared. And believe me, they can tell the difference!
