Auditions for Disney: Basic Disney Channel Audition Tips
April 10, 2009 by Julie Bonner
I know there are a lot of you who are interested in Disney Channel Auditions. Finding auditions and knowing what the whole audition world is like can be tricky. Very tricky.
Auditions for Disney has some excellent Audition tips, as well as the latest news on what Disney Channel Auditions are available. It’s a little quiet in the DC audition world right now, so while you are waiting for new auditions to come out, check out this site and get some fabulous tips.
You can also follow them on Twitter to get the latest news.
Here’s an excerpt from their latest article about Basic Audition Tips:
Be Prepared
The first thing to do is read the script and prepare for the part. Find out everything you can about the character you’re going to be playing. The lines aren’t important yet. Just commit your focus to the character. How old, where from, how the character feels about other characters in the story. Only after you know everything you need to know about the character do you start learning your lines. Use whatever method you feel most comfortable with. You won’t be required to know the whole script at the audition but be prepared. It’s okay to be nervous. Even experienced actors get nervous at an audition, but the casting director will know you are serious about this if you seemed prepared. And believe me, they can tell the difference!

March 7, 2009 by Julie Bonner
Disney announced just a couple of days ago that “High School Musical 4” is definitely happening. There are some mixed emotions about this because, as far as we know, none of the original cast will be coming back.
Now, I believe there is a possibility that Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) could make an appearance because of how High School Musical 3 ended, but that’s another story.
So, there’s going to be a HSM4. What does that mean? It means time for audition info and casting calls for all of those great singers, dancers and extras! w00t! Who wants to be in HSM4? Anyone, anyone…
Acting Info has just posted the info. Head on over there to see where to send your resume and headshot.
HSM4 is about: “East meets West in a classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights.”
Are you a little more excited about this announcement now that it’s had a few days to sink in?

February 10, 2009 by Julie Bonner
I have some more “High School Musical 3” goodies! Read these audition tips from Kenny Ortega, director of all 3 of the “High School Musical” movies. I know a lot of you are interested in acting, so I think you will love to hear what he has to say.
Have you got what it takes to be the next Ashley Tisdale or Zac Efron? Fancy hitting the big time? Want to bag a role on HSM4? High School Musical director Kenny Ortega reveals the secrets to the perfect audition. Follow his top-secret audition advice and you’ll be a star of the silver screen in no time…
Hi Kenny! What are your top audition tips for wannabe actors?
If you’re a young person who wants to become an actor, it’s really important to walk into a casting room with a sense of yourself and some life experience. You can really delight a room and have them already choose you before you’ve even said a word!
How can that happen?
This actually happened to me years ago when a young Leonardo DiCaprio auditioned for me for a film. He ended up not doing it. He ended up doing a movie called What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, which was a good choice, but he came in and he completely won me over.

Are You the UK’s Next Miley Cyrus?
February 5, 2009 by Julie Bonner
The Disney Channel UK is looking for kids as young as eight, to be the UK’s Miley Cyrus. The show is called “My Camp Rock” and it’s a TV talent show based on the Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock”.
If you are from the age of 8 to 16, you are invited to submit a video of you performing either This Is Me or We Rock from “Camp Rock”. From those entries, 8 people will be be chosen to take part in the show.
The 8 contestants will be sent to boot camp in Essex and given dance and vocal lessons with Any Dream Will Do vocal coach Zoe Tyler.
Zoe said, “For me I think it will be thrilling to find an eight-year-old or nine-year-old who can sing rock, rap or pop because I’m not used to hearing that. This country does need its own version of Hannah Montana so maybe this show will bring it to the fore. It’s about time."
“My Camp Rock” will air on Disney Channel UK in April. You only have until February 11th to enter, so hurry! Head on over to the Disney Channel UK site for more information.

“Barney” Helps Launch Kids’ Careers
January 25, 2009 by Julie Bonner
In order to become a star, you have to start somewhere right?
The last few Disney stars I have talked to (Kevin, Samantha and Lucas), I have asked them where they first started and I received the same answer from them all. It was always something small – either a small role in a movie, some print ads or a commercial here and there.
There is one show that is known for launching the careers of Disney stars such as Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Madison Pettis and other kids are hoping it will do the same for them.
They all have that purple dinosaur named Barney to thank! “Barney and Friends” has become a great place to start and train for many young stars.
Demi and Selena have shot to fame from their appearances in Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney Channel shows and they have both signed music contracts. Barney has done them some good!
Others are hoping to follow in their same footsteps.
Victoria Lennox, an 11-year-old from Flower Mound, Texas, who’s in her fourth season on the show said, “I look at them as my role model. This is going to be a great little steppingstone for me. I want to follow in their footsteps."
So, for those of you hoping to follow in the footsteps of Demi, Selena and others, just get out there and start somewhere! Audition for commercials, print ads and small roles here and there. You never know where that one small part can take you.
