"Wiz-tober" kicks off with a special encore presentation of "Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie" on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT), leading into an entire month of magic-filled movies, including the popular Disney Channel Original Movies "Halloweentown" and "Twitches" (and their sequels), and two installments from the popular "Harry Potter" feature film series, among others. The month also delivers the premiere of a brand new Halloween-themed episode of Disney Channel’s JONAS and spooky episodes of The Suite Life On Deck  and Wizards of Waverly Place.

Beginning Wednesday, September 16, kids can log on to DisneyChannel.com and get printable instructions for "Call in Your Haunt," where fans can record their own spooky haunted house sound effects. Select entries can be heard online in the Wizards of Waverly Place Haunted House, and will air on Disney Channel during the programming event.

Following the tremendous success of the film “Tinker Bell” on Blu-ray and DVD in 2008, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment announces teen superstar Demi Lovato to sing the song from “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure,” the newest addition in the best-selling Fairies franchise.  Releasing on October 27, 2009, the enchanting pixie-dusted tale continues in an even more action-packed adventure, as “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” delightfully expands the world of fairies and takes Tink far beyond Pixie Hollow in an original full-length CG animated film that flies to Blu-ray (“Combo Pack” Blu-ray +DVD) and standard def DVD.  “Gift of a Friend,” co-written by Lovato, is featured over the end credits of the film, and the music video will premiere on Disney Channel Friday, September 4 at 8:25 PM before a brand new episode of ”Suite Life on Deck.”

Lovato rose to stardom in 2008 with the Disney Channel Original Movie CAMP ROCK opposite The Jonas Brothers.  She was also featured in Walt Disney Studios JONAS BROTHERS: THE 3D CONCERT EXPERIENCE feature film in early 2009.  Her sophomore album, Here We Go Again, debuted at # 1 on the Billboard 200, selling in excess of 107,000 units.  With Here We Go Again Demi Lovato bested her debut album, Don’t Forget which debuted at # 2 selling 89,000 units in its first week.
Demi headlines in the hit Disney Channel series “Sonny With A Chance,” and “Sonny with a Chance: Sonny’s Big Break,” a new compilation is now available on DVD featuring a brand new never-before-seen episode and the “Mackenzie Falls” Season Finale Cliffhanger.”

Lovato also starred in the smash Disney Channel movie “Princess Protection Program,” which delivered 9.9 million viewers with its premiere telecast and at the time, was  the year’s # 1 TV movie among Kids 6 – 11 and Tweens and cable TV’s # 1 movie telecast in Total Viewers and Households.  It is now available on Disney DVD in a “Royal B.F.F. Extended Edition.

In “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure,” Tinker Bell’s greatest adventure yet takes place in autumn, as the fairies are on the mainland changing the colors of the leaves, tending to pumpkin patches, and helping geese fly south for the winter.   The rare Blue Moon will rise, and when its light passes through the magical Fall Scepter that Tinker Bell has been summoned to create, Pixie Hollow’s supply of pixie dust will be restored.  But, when Tinker Bell accidentally puts all of Pixie Hollow in jeopardy, she must venture out across the sea on a secret quest to set things right.

Wilmer Valderrama of "Handy Manny" and Maria Canals-Barrera of the hit Emmy-nominated series "Wizards of Waverly Place" will host interstitials highlighting Hispanic traditions. The interstitials will also feature kids from around the nation sharing cultural traditions such as La Arana, Los Pollitos, salsa dancing and Quinceañeras.

Here’s the programming line-up:

"Gotta Kick It Up," starring America Ferrera will be featured Tuesday, September 15 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT), Wednesday, September 16 (12:00 p.m., ET/PT) and Saturday, October 3 (12:00 p.m., ET/PT). Inspired by the real-life experience of a television executive and her years as a young "Teach for America" teacher in Los Angeles, "Gotta Kick It Up" follows a dot.com executive-turned-school teacher and volunteer dance team coach who takes a handful of Latina schoolgirls and motivates them to find their potential and overcome societal obstacles. Through her guidance, and with their mantra "Sí Se Puede" ("Yes We Can"), the girls beat the odds and become a championship dance team. Based on a story by Nancy De Los Santos and Meghan Cole, "Gotta Kick It Up" is produced by Christopher Morgan and directed by Ramon Menendez.  Teleplay by Nancy De Los Santos, Ramon Menendez, Tom Musca and Stu Krieger. It carries a TV-G parental guideline.    

"Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie," will air Wednesday, September 16 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT), Thursday, September 17 (12:00 p.m., ET/PT), Thursday, October 1 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) and Friday, October 2 (12:00 p.m., ET/PT).  Manhattan’s magical wizard siblings, Alex, Justin and Max Russo, accompany their parents on a Caribbean vacation where Alex’s inadvertent magic spell makes it so her parents have never met. When they learn the only thing that will reverse the spell is the magical Stone of Dreams, they embark on a quest through the jungle to find it, with time running out to save their family, in "Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie," an adventure comedy complete with over 350 special effects. The movie was written by Dan Berendsen, executive produced by Peter Murrieta and directed by Lev L. Spiro.  It is based on the series created by Todd J. Greenwald. It carries a TV-G parental guideline.

"Handy Manny" mini-marathon airing Friday, September 18 (9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., ET/PT) featuring a new episode, "The Great Donate/Abuelita in a Fix" (9:00 a.m., ET/PT). During a repair at the library, Manny and the tools notice that the books in the children’s reading room are in bad shape. Everyone pitches in to spread the word, and Manny and the tools discover the generosity of their friends and neighbors.  Meanwhile, when Abuelito accidentally breaks the tortilla maker that Manny gave him for his birthday he tries to fix it himself, which proves harder than he thought. Manny eventually discovers what happened, and he and the tools help Abuelito put it back together. It carries a TV-Y parental guideline.

"The Cheetah Girls 2," airing Wednesday, September 23 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT), Thursday, September 24 (12:00 p.m., ET/PT) and Saturday, October 10 (12:00 p.m., ET/PT).  In the sequel, the talented teen divas – Galleria, Chanel, Aquanetta and Dorinda’s quest for pop superstardom takes an international turn when they enter a music festival in Barcelona, Spain.  Once there, they meet Marisol (played by Mexican recording artist Belinda Peregrin), a talented Spanish solo singer and her manager/mother Lola, who unbeknownst to the Cheetahs, could lead to the break up their group. The movie is based on the best-selling book series "The Cheetah Girls" written by Deborah Gregory and published by Jump at the Sun/Hyperion Books for Children, the teleplay was written by Felicia Henderson and Alison Taylor. The executive producer is Debra Martin Chase and co-executive producer is Raven-Symoné. The movie is directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega. It carries a TV-G parental guideline.

A new, two-part time travel back-to-the-future episode of the hit animated series "Phineas and Ferb," guest starring Jennifer Stone ("Wizards of Waverly Place"), Moises Arias ("Hannah Montana") and Jennifer Grey ("Dirty Dancing"), kicks off Disney Channel’s Night of Premieres on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 (8:00–11:00 p.m., ET/PT). The lineup includes a new episode of "The Suite Life on Deck," a sneak peek clip from an upcoming "The Suite Life on Deck" one-hour special entitled "Lost at Sea," and the network premiere of Walt Disney Pictures’ animated feature film, "Meet the Robinsons."

In "Phineas and Ferb’s Quantum Boogaloo" (8:00–8:30 p.m., ET/PT), Phineas and Ferb travel to the future to find a tool that hasn’t been invented yet. There they encounter future Candace, who follows them back through time and finally busts her brothers as they’re building their rollercoaster. She also accidentally foils Agent P’s defeat of Dr. Doofenshmirtz, setting off a chain reaction that turns the future into a dystopian society. The episode guest stars Jennifer Stone as future Candace’s daughter, Amanda, Moises Arias as future Candace’s son, Fred, and Jennifer Grey as the Librarian, and features a musical solo by Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

At 8:30 p.m., ET/PT, viewers will be treated to a sneak peek clip from an upcoming "The Suite Life on Deck" one-hour special entitled "Lost at Sea," which will premiere October 2 on Disney Channel.

A new episode of "The Suite Life on Deck" (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT), entitled "Goin’ Bananas," finds Zack submitting one of Cody’s old term papers as his own without realizing it contains a bizarre passage about a banana phobia. Before long, Ms. Tuttweiler sends him to see a counselor, as London goes through withdrawal when her cell phone is taken away after she’s caught texting during class.

The network premiere of "Meet the Robinsons" (9:00-10:30 p.m., ET/PT), starring Nicole Sullivan ("The Penguins of Madagascar"), Laurie Metcalf ("Desperate Housewives"), Daniel Hansen ("Roswell") and Jordan Fry ("Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"), follows a brilliant young inventor named Lewis as he sets off on a time-traveling journey to find the family he never knew.

Among Disney Channel’s 77 Disney Channel Original Movies, “Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie” came in at number 2 in total viewers. It was just behind August 2007’s mega-hit “High School Musical 2.”

The special “Lights, Camera, Take Action! Backstage with Disney’s Friends for Change” Delivers 4.8 million Viewers, 1.9 million Kids 6-11 and 1.7 million Tweens 9-14.
