Johnny Depp to Receive $35 Million for “Pirates 4”

WOW! Johnny Depp has catapulted himself to the number one spot of Hollywood’s highest paid actors. He has officially signed on for “Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides” for a guaranteed minimum of $35 million.

Now, that’s a guaranteed $35 million. If the film does really well at the box office (which is will…I mean come on!), then he could earn even more than that. This deal has put Depp above other high paid actors such as Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise who all receive high salaries, but not $35 million!

Why did and could Disney agree to pay him so much? It’s reportedly because of the decision that neither Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom will return to the film, which leaves a little extra in the Disney bank I guess.

Penelope Cruz is rumored to be playing the lead female role and I will be very curious to see how much she makes. Won’t you?
