“20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” Movie on Hold Indefinitely with McG

20,000 leagues under the sea According to the MTV movies blog, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” has been put on hold indefinitely with McG. Why? Well, the movie was under the regime of Dick Cook and now that he is gone from Disney, the movie has been put aside. Was it because of his departure? Most likely.

This does not mean that Disney doesn’t still have plans for the movie, it just won’t be done with McG. Variety is saying that the film still has priority with new chief Rich Ross. The film was rumored to begin filming in February, but the fact that they don’t even have a cast, makes it look like that will definitely not be happening. Will Smith was at one point rumored to be attached to the lead role, which I would love to see!

Who knows what the status of “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” is, but Variety is also saying that they do know Disney’s next big water shoot will be “Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides.”
