Have Any Ideas For “Who Wants to Be the Next Disney Channel Star”?
Do you have a dream of being the next Demi Lovato or Selena Gomez? Can you see yourself with your own Disney Channel Show or Original Movie?
I originally told you about this idea back in November and if you take one look at the post here, you can see that this idea was a BIG hit!!
Well, Alan Baltes, who came up with this idea, is asking for your help again and wants your feedback. He is still in the early preparations of pitching the idea to Disney execs. Here’s a description of his idea:
The show would tour America in search of the next person to become a star on the Disney Channel. There would be open casting calls that would take place in various cities throughout the United States. Contestants would perform acting, singing, or dancing routines. They would then be narrowed down to finalists who would come to Burbank, California to compete in a reality show in which the winner would receive a contract to star in a Disney Channel Television Show or Feature Film.
If this idea interest you, head on over to his blog and give him some ideas for the show! I am sure he will appreciate your ideas and it will help him make this idea turn into a reality. I for one would LOVE to see this show actually happen.

Sweet! I was so mad that I didn’t get to tryout out for High School Musical: Get in the Picture, I just couldn’t make the auditions! But this is amazing I’m super stoked and cant wait until more info is provided!

At first I was excited about this. But then I started thinking, Isn’t this concept WAY OVERUSED and it would be kind of lame after a while. I mean they would have to start a LOT of new shows and movies and when your trying to come up with new screenplays quickly, quality kind of goes out the window

Hi, Alan i have some ideas for ur show. let whoever try out then u and a group of people should pick who should be on the show. once u get there put every one in a group. then each week knock some one off of each group so for example if u have 10 groups then one person has to go from each group. each week u should do a dance week then a singing week and then an acting week, also please come to Fresno m,y friends and i would love to try out and be the next disney channel star!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great idea. It would give kids a dose of reality and what it takes to become big. If the show happens they should come to Puerto Rico. This is a U.S territory and there are many people here from the US. It woulld be great if we had the same opportunity. The people here are very talented and commited to their dreams.

I sometimes write shows and the one im writting at this time is about a girl going into high shcool who kinda clutz but she knows many people in the school because of her brother. come to lawton,Oklahoma.this is so cool i sing in church(solo),was in church choir,and i was in a talent show.I love to sing ,solo or in a group, maxium people i have sung in front of people is over 500.i have sang a solo in school during assembly i sung the star spangle banner,infront of the whole school.

i think that it should be about a singer and actress to be the main character (like me ) and to make it funny but show how stars lives there lives
i came up with this idea for the show cause everyone wants to know who they live and what they do
Show name-Life in the fabulous lane
the main character-zoey (me)(13 age)
best friend-Emilee(13 age)
Best friend #2-graci(13 age)
zoey is a famous actor and singer and who misses her friends back in her old life
zoey would tour in the united states
and do a pretend sow in the show
episode#1-life in her old life and finding an audition to be an actress/singer and no one believes shell make it
episode#2-her leaving her old friends and family for a while

I think that it would be awesome to come to Wisconsin. there are a lot of people in Wisconsin who would love to become famous but just don’t know how. they can’t go all the way across the country to try out for something that they may not make it into. I think that this is one of the best ideas around. I’ve dreamt of being a Disney Channel Star ever since I was a little kid. I’ve always wanted to act, sing, and dance. I’ve been kind of shy to open up to new things like infront of new people. But watching some of the new Disney Channel movies and learning about the stories of some the stars. I’ve let myself try to be who I really want to be.
Many people, like me, dont ever have the opportunity to experience and audition for a major production company or movie or anything because of the lifestyle we have.
Money, where you live, and who you are is a BIG part of “making it big” so to speak. You need money for an agent, you need money to go to auditions, you need to live somewhere where audtions are held if you dont have money and you need to have a name if you have neither..
I dont have money and I live in a town so small the only thing we have here are cow pens and 1 corner gas station. My house it falling apart and I mean that literally so even if I had a bit of money to drive to an audition, I couldnt because money has to be spent on things like bills and food.
So, I think that this show would be a great opportunity for so many people just to be able to get out there and show what they have and if they dont make oh well, atleast they can say “I had a chance, I got to go to that casting call!” and their hearts may be hurt by it but in the end they’ll be full of joy because they got a chance..
you just need to find those right towns, those right spots to go to and have a casting call.
I think this show would be amazing, and if you came here to Bratt, or the closes “city” Pensacola. I know I’d show up and I might not have the talent that so many people do but I’d be able to go and say “I tried, I made an effort to get out there and show who I am and I was for once in my life… ME!”

This is totally what a want and what i need since I was like 3 years old. But the thing is that some days ago i went looking some disney channel stars biographies and i saw that all of them started their carreer because they have a familiar that is famous, or because they start when they were young in comercials or because they knew a productor of some movies or soe tv shows ad they invite them so i think is pretty hard for me to be a disney channel star starting from zero at this age, i’m 15 years old. but i hope they can do an exception or try getting different people making their dreams come true!

I also think that it will be good if disney channel also try in differents countries, I mean it will be good if they ave international charachters and actrees from Canada, Mexico, Guateala, etcc. so please if you know something about auditions here at Mexico please tell me because this can be my opportunity, and i agree wth you Heather, like i now that a lot of people have more talent than me but at least i’ll can say that “i try and i put all my effort”. and i will feel satisfied that i make my own effort and god made the desicion of my future if my destiny is in the tv life or if it is just in my house with my family.

Your points are totally clear. Especially about the starting because of family or because they have a name or money. It’s a lot harder for us who dont have money or family and freinds in the business.
And about the whole international stars. Disney channel actually has things like Disney Channel UK and Disney Channel Spain. I was like thats cool when I learned about it.

I would absolutely be interested in this. I live in a very small town, where my closest neighbors are a bear, squirrel, rabbit, deer, ect. I live in the woods and I really have never had the chance to do anything like this.
I am trying to audition for Camp Rock 2, but money is a big thing that isnt really laying around. If you could do this show it would be amazing. It would be a great experience and it would make a very good show. I have wanted to work for Disney Channel since I was young. I am 15 and I would love to audition for this!

This is the type of show that I have been waiting for. It could really help some of us out there who have the dream of becoming a Disney Channel Star.
It could also give some of us the confidence we need, some of us dont have any acting experience and this could give us a chance to be recognized for our talents. Even if you have acting experience it would help get you noticed!
So many of us have dreams of becoming the next Disney Channel Star, and if this show comes out, it could make someone’s dream come true. It would be an amazing experience. And if they could do this show it would be great for us, and great for Disney Channel. :)
If anyone knows when auditions/open calls start please tell us!
And if you know where all the auditions will be taking place, please tell us that also!

I think a show like this would be beneficial for the Disney Channel to partake in. Although it’s “plot” is a bit on the overused side - with the travelling from city to city and sending them on to Cali. But, at the same time that’s also the type of entertainment that sells.
Shows like American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Legally Blonde: The Search for Elle Woods, Grease: You’re the One That I Want, etc. are all literally eaten up by television watchers all across America. I personally think it’d be a smart move to do something like this.
The trouble with it is, Disney always tends to learn towards the cheesey, ‘kid friendly’ side. And although the Disney Channel is meant for children - I feel like if you’re going to classify this as a ‘reality series’ there needs to be that realness factor in it. Like seeing people cry when they loose or when they’re nervous, or seeing even little disputes among people in competition. It’s those types of things that make viewers watch - along with getting to see 20 talented people show their stuff.
I also feel like if Disney DID actually take that advice, it would allow more viewers to have respect for the Disney channel: because it would seem so real. As opposed to the flourescent sets, and plastic-like lifestyles the characters go through on the T.V. shows.
But all-in-all I think it would be a great step towards a more popular outlook on the Disney channel then there already is. And just on a more selfish note, I’d like to know whereabouts the age range is for the talent you’re seeking. Because I feel like if you just put on a bunch of whiney kids - it probably would almost be a detriment to the show as well.

This would be an amazing opportunity, for a lot of people. And yeah in a lot of places. But I vote that you come to South Dakota. Rapid City. Or just anywhere in South dakota. It isnt very popular here. But there are a lot of amazing actors here. And it is so hard to get noticed living here. So coming here or close to here would just be amazing, because theyre are a lot of actors here, and when does somebody from here get this kind of chance. And its not like we would be able to fly all the way across the country for tryouts. Well i would be able to but not everyone here. So please just try South Dakota for once. THAT WOULD BE TOTALLY AWESOME DUDES. (:

That’s a great idea! I live close to Orlando and everytime I go to Disney, it makes me feel like a star. I want to just jump up and start singing and dancing haha! I would so tryout for it too. I think it would be a good idea if you could travel to almost all of the 50 states. Most parents won’t let their children fly out of the state for an audition. But this is a great idea to try :)

I think you should come to Colorado. A lot of kids here would die to become the next disney channel star. I can sing,dance, and act. I have an amazing voice. I am taking singing and acting classes to get better. Please come to Colorado. If not Please tell us the closest place you will be to Colorado.

hey my name is anahi ever since i was small i always wanted to be in disney but my mom never approved it she didnt think it was possible AND NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE THINK I CAN BUT I KNOW I CAN AND I WANNA PROVE THEM ALL WRONG yew know and i wann make her proud really but in my own way and if i get this chance i can prove her wrong PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ COME TO LAS VEGAS PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
